Chapter 2: Struggle

I opened my eyes and saw pure darkness only. I am sure that I blacked out a while ago. Where am I? This place felt so real and it’s too hard to believe. How did I get here anyway? I have so many questions.

I looked around and saw nothing. I began to walk straight up ahead. Maybe I’ll see something. Is this some kind of a limbo? I might be stuck here forever. Oh please, I must not be pessimistic. I have to find a way out.

I began wandering for what felt like hours. This is torture! I just want to go home. I don’t want to stay here anymore. I can’t see anything.

I continued walking and I heard distant footsteps. I was hesitant but I followed. Is somebody there? Is somebody in this darkness with me? I had no choice. I have to find the source. There is no other way.

What is really happening? So many questions kept on popping in my head as I continued walking. The footsteps still haven’t stopped. Maybe I should run after it? Walking is taking me so long. I don’t care whatever is ahead.

I ran and the footsteps felt closer now. I am sure that I will catch up to it soon. This place is so vast. The darkness never ends.

The footsteps suddenly stopped and I paused for a moment, breathing hard from exhaustion. I listened for any sound but there was nothing. I felt nervous and tried to calm down my breathing.

I just stared up ahead and I suddenly saw a pair of glowing red eyes floating a few meters from me. The eyes are sinister and I felt that it’s evil.

I was shaking and I couldn’t turn back. I just stood and stared back at the eyes. I fear that if I blink, it might get closer.

I couldn’t keep my eyes open so I blinked. I suddenly saw a mouth with rows of sharp teeth forming a smile from it. It even got creepier. This can’t be real, right?

I began to sweat and my heart kept on beating faster. The mouth’s smile widened. It maybe sensed my fear. I wanted to scream but nothing came out from my mouth. I was paralyzed from fear.

As I blink, the eyes and the mouth got closer. I blinked one more time and I saw that it finally got arms with sharp claws. I felt helpless. It suddenly grabbed me and I struggled. I tried hard to move my body. I could move but it takes a lot of will-power.
