As the weeks went by, I had grown more of a liking toward Harry. I even found myself looking forward to my last 3 periods just so I could see and talk to him. Even though he has a place somewhere in the gang world that I don't know about, it just added to his mysterious persona.

I'm not sure if it's a friendship or if it's growing to something more, but whatever we have, I'm content with. At least for now.

He asked for my number last Friday and I gladly gave it to him. He even mentioned something about hanging out over the weekend, but unfortunately I couldn't because I was out on a job. All weekend long.

"So how's lover boy?" Bella asks with a chuckle.

"Funny." I sarcastically remark. "I don't know to be honest. He asked me to hangout over the weekend, but I couldn't because I had a family thing. And I haven't been able to talk to him about rescheduling all week because he hasn't be in school. I'm starting to think he ghosted me."

"Have you texted him?" She questions.

"Well, no, but I didn't because I don't want to seem clingy asking him where he has been." I shrug.

"That's not being clingy." Bella says throwing up air quotes. "Texting him asking if everything's ok is going to do no harm."

"Ok, fine I'll text him at lunch or something." I say dismissing the conversation.

These past 3 days have been pretty rough without harry to be honest. He helps me get through the day without dying of boredom. I couldn't help but wonder if the reason he wasn't here was because of his duties in whatever gang he is in. I'm not positive he is in one I guess, but he is mixed into that type of crowd one way or another.

Finally, the long school day has come to an end. As I pull into the driveway, I notice an unfamiliar car parked. When I walk into the house, there is no one in sight. I let my curiosity get the best of me and I quietly make my way to my fathers study.

As I get closer, I hear my father talking with another man. "What do you mean they took all of this months supply?" My father yells. "How did they even get into the building?"

"They took out all surrounding guards before we had time to contact for backup, sir." The unfamiliar mans void spoke. "We are still yet to figure out who was behind the attack."

"Well we know who it was." My father said. "It's obviously Styles. Him and his revenge. I don't even know what I did to him!"

Styles, aka Des Styles, is the leader of another gang who also happens to be my fathers worst enemy. Des and my father apparently used to be friends. Des betrayed my father, so he says, and since then hasn't spoken to him. They have been at war for the past 11 years.

The only reason why I'm confused is because the Styles gang is from England, so I don't know how they stole stuff from my father here in America.

"It's most likely him, yes, but we are still not positive." The man said.

"Ok, when you find the proof you need to believe me, come back, but for now I have shit to deal with." My father spots angrily.

I hear footsteps approaching the door and I carefully tip toe down the hall as fast as possible and run up to my room.

*Why hasn't my father told me that des is possibly here in LA??* I wonder

Instead of questioning my fathers actions, I pull out my phone to text Harry.

Me: hey Harry, is everything's ok? Anyways school has been hell without you :/ when will u be back?

After sending the text, I power my phone off and toss it to the foot of my bed. I can't let myself sit around all night waiting for a reply.

I decide to get changed and go to the mall. I need to get Christmas gifts anyways.

Harry

I check my phone to see a text from Eve. I sigh to myself knowing I can't text her back till tomorrow night at the earliest. I decide not to read the text because it will temp me too much to reply.

These past few days have been pretty weird since I'm used to seeing her all the time. I have not enjoyed this week to say the least. I'm excited to get back to school on Monday to see her and I can't help but hope she won't question my absence.

After the 15 minute drive, I park outside the grove in LA. Before getting out of the car, I put on my sunglasses and grab my wallet.

I go to urban outfitters first to get something for my sister and also to look around for myself. After, I go to a few different stores in search for something for my brother and father.

As I'm about to walk to my car, something through a store window that catches my eye. I enter the store to see the item up close.

"Hi, can I take a look at one of the rings in the front window?" I ask the sales associate, pointing to the glass case toward the front of the store.

"Sure," she replies with a smile, "which one would you like to see?"

"The silver band with the emerald stone please." I reply.

She opens the case, using a key that she pulled out of her back pocket. Must be expensive. She hands me a black velvet box that the ring is displayed in.

The ring is beautiful and I know that Harry would love it. I noticed that he likes rings, as his fingers are always covered with them. Despite having so many, I've never seen him wearing one with an emerald. The color of the gem would bring out the green in his eyes just perfectly.

"How much?" I ask the sales associate.

"355 dollars." She replies.

It's quite expensive, but it's perfect for him, I just know it. And if we continue our friendship, I assume we will be doing some sort of gift exchange for the holiday season.

"I'll take it." I say handing her the box to ring up. "And this bracelet."

The bracelet looked like something my mom would've picked out and it wouldn't feel right not getting her a gift.

On my drive back, I can't help but think about why Harry hasn't replied to me yet. I hope that I didn't just buy this gift for him to not ever see him again.

Even though we haven't talked in days, I just know that he wouldn't leave me like that. I know that he feels something between us too.

I just know...
