PERSUADE (v.):
❝ provide a sound reasoning for someone to do something ❞IT COULD'VE BEEN the aftermath of the party. The awkward yet seemingly comforting feeling of Wooyoung's warm cheek pressing against his bare chest as he blabbered on about something in the midst of his sleep. San was puzzled, to say the least. He didn't understand what to do as this was his first time waking up at a house that wasn't his own along with a person he met merely hours ago and slept with so the only thing that would come to his mind first was to detach Wooyoung's sleepy body from his and look for his clothes. By the time he had gathered his clothing and dressed himself the sun was already arising along with a headache that seemed to give him a sense of how much he drank. (He swore it was only a cup but perhaps through his blurry flickering memories there were more than he knew of.)
Before the rest of the house could wake up, San had already shut the door and walked the entire way back to his dorm. Even if he was exhausted in the end and his legs had begun to ache far more than his head did he craved for the morning silence; the type of silence where you know no one will bother you and the kind of silence that is comforting; -as though it reassures you of your problems and any other little thought such as the fact that time was moving way too quickly for everyone in the world and maybe San was seeking that reassurance which is why he did what he did.
His mind was a huge scribbled mess that he no longer knew how to navigate any of his thoughts. Nonetheless, he went to school that day with his lips sewn together by a thread of desperation and plea for nothing to be said. With every glance he took around the school Wooyoung now seemed to be everywhere. It was a constant reminder of what he did, of a secret that he now realized wasn't only his but Wooyoung's as well.
Yet even after he tried to convince himself what happened that day — the need to rebel — was a mere mistake and would never occur again Wooyoung seemed to always come back. He'd converse with San, slip him love notes that San would later call him stupid for, and constantly drag San into his world. It was overwhelming how persistent Wooyoung was with pushing his pencil farther along San's empty page, a page he didn't know who become full soon and torn at the edges.
Wooyoung was the epitome of persuasive in ways San never knew was possible. The kisses, honeysuckles, and intoxicating whispers became everything to San. So much that he found himself drunk over Wooyoung's neverending admiration towards him and when Wooyoung had finally asked, "Will you give me a chance?"
San didn't hesitate to nod his head and allow himself to unravel to a world that was far more bittersweet than he'd ever expected it to be. "I'll give you a chance."
