I stayed low behind Hadvar and our newest recruit to let them kick off the fighting. While they distracted the enemy, I pulled out the iron shield and mace I had found in the torturing room and crept up behind them as quietly as I could. The moment a Stormcloak looked my way, I leapt into battle.

It wasn't long before another rebel fell at my feet. I joined Hadvar and the assistant in taking on the next closest enemies. When our task was complete, we charged across the bridge and intercepted the archers.

I ran quickly, giving them no time to shoot effectively. They dropped their bows and drew their blades.

I sounded a battle cry as I seemed to pathetically slash away at both soldiers at once. But I knew what he was doing.

I slowly moved back as he was fighting both soldiers. Then, before either could suspect a thing, I cast away my shield, and my hand began to glow orange. I shot one final smirk at his enemies before sending a stream of fire towards the ground.

They looked down, and their eyes widened. They were standing in a puddle of strange, shiny liquid.

Once the flames hit the liquid, it spontaneously combusted into violent flames, burning its way through both soldiers. They crumpled to the ground, burnt to a crisp

Obviously, I was outside of the fire's effect, so all I had to do was watch. I shook my hand to put out my fire magic and sheathed my mace. Thank the gods for that fire tome I'd read years ago.

Hadvar jogged up to me. "The other lad said he was going to stay behind and take care of the old man," he relayed to me.

I nodded in response, and we looked ahead. There was a lever next to a raised bridge. I followed Hadvar as he went up and pulled the lever. The bridge swung down with a clunk.

We ran across the bridge and into the next cavern. I suddenly felt the ground shake beneath his feet, and I turned around just in time to see boulders rain down and destroy the bridge.

"Damn it," Hadvar cursed. "No going back that way. At least we're lucky that didn't come down over our heads. Guess the others will have to find another way out. C'mon," he said as he gestured to the staircase ahead. Not another word needed to be spoken, and I followed.
