Breaking The Curse

Chapter 2

I walked around the house like a lunatic loosing my mind and came across a note on the nightstand. Just you dare break that beautiful angel, we're going to have a problem.

If only she could see the look on my face!

She chose the stupid cursed topper over her life, there's no way in hell I'm going to lose her as well...

She stayed away all night, most nights she'd send me a text saying the hospital was over crowded Head Nurse Betty needed an extra hand; but this time she said not a word to me. 

I trusted her completely but I could not go to sleep upset knowing that she'd be away all night after the fiasco over an angel topper. I jumped out of bed, got dressed and left to find my stubborn beautiful wife. her temper was something I fell in love with so trying to change her was not an option.

I picked up a couple of roses to try and cool her temper down. As i pulled into to the casualty  section an ambulance pulled up next to me, the paramedics pulled out a gurney with a man holding onto his neck.

Blood oozed out through the gaps in between his fingers as they rolled him through the emergency room, witnessing two woman who raised me fall out of our second story window made my heart strong, nothing could scare me more than loosing her. 

That's what i thought.

I walked into the hospital in search for my drama Queen but she was nowhere to be found. Nurse Betty stood in the corridor holding onto her clip board for dear life. As I walked closer I over heard her saying "this is the third one we found in one night."

I tapped on her shoulder making her jump forward into a nurse I had never seen before, "God dammit!" she yelled as she turned around to see who almost caused her a heart attack. I held my hands up in front of my face in case she decided to strike me. 

Amazingly she smiled the moment she saw me, "OH its you, Adeline isn't here. Are those for me?"

Her smile turned into a grin as she stared at the five red roses I held in my hand. "Sure" I whisper shouted as i stretched my hand out towards her. Well after all i did almost scare her to death.

She put them to her nose giving them a hard sniff, "Ah why are you here? Adeline went home hours ago."

Not wanting to cause a scene I blurted out the first thing that came to mind. Yeah, I know she isn't here i stopped over to visit a sick friend! 

She raised her ginger brow at me, "Aha i'm sure you did!" she whispered as she took another sniff 

I said goodbye and turned around, my mind raced at 220 miles per second. Thinking about where could she be at this hour. 

Could she be cheating on me?

No she wouldn't do that,I shook the thought out of my head and pulled out my cell which had unfortunately died in my pocket. I ran down the corridor hopped into my car and sped down the highway.

All sorts of what if's went through my mind.
