"Are you liking your new wheels?"
Avery kicking out her little legs was Faye's response, one just about dangling off as usual while the other, oddly enough, was not a match. Faye pressed her lips together to stop from laughing, making a mental note to ask Levi how he managed to mismatch a bright red Minnie Mouse sock with a vibrant blue Stitch one.
"Looks like you tired out daddy."Faye breathily commented, smiling when a sibling duo rushing past them, one armed with a shoe and the other whining for their father.
Going by how she was kicking and gesturing, her Moana plush held high in the air, Avery was completely taken with the scenery. Given how it was the weekend and the sun was beaming down on them, the park was filled with families.
There were handfuls of children rushing about, some preoccupied with the climbing frame and others oscillating on the swings. Some that were tired of playing were imploring their parents for some money for the ice cream van that already had a long line of youngsters waiting to be served.
While a handful were lucky enough to have some peace, a lot of the parents were either running after their kids in a chase or to catch some of the more lively ones that were on a sugar high.
"Here we go."
Faye slowed her pace as they came up to the bucket seat swings, sighing in relief when she noticed that there was one going spare.
Smiling in hello at a father in the midst of lifting his reluctant son out from the swing beside them, Faye positioned the stroller alongside the swing set. She offered him a sympathetic glance when the boy, not much older than Avery, started to protect with a watery mumble.
"Right, bunny."
Rounding the stroller and softly laughing when she caught Avery instantly lifting her head in search of her, Faye greeted her daughter with a warm smile.
"You and mama are gonna have fun today, are we?"
Reaching underneath Avery's seat and pulling out one of the spare blankets they'd had lying around, Faye folded it over once then twice. She played along with interested hums to please Avery as she babbled while bending down to her daughter's level.
Avery's eyes illuminated at the sight of her and she started to wriggle, arms held out expectantly.
"Ma, ma, ma, ma!"Avery imitated brightly, squirming impatiently when she was unbuckled from her seat.
Zestfully nodding happily to urge Avery's attempts at copying her, Faye busied herself with pulling up her daughter's socks while Avery took in their surroundings.
"Yeah, good, you're almost there. Mama. Mama."Faye murmured encouragingly, tickling the soles of daughter's feet."Come on, you."
Groaning just for the sound effect to garner more excited babbling from Avery, Faye rose to her feet with her daughter in her arms. Avery kept up her wriggling while studying those present at the park.
