Wysteria yawned heavily, leaning against Bella's shoulder and Bella chuckled. "Shouldn't I be the tired one here? I'm carrying a damn baby." Bella said.
"I know." Wysteria said with another yawn. "But flying around out there waiting for something to happen all night is tiring."
"I know but you're supposed to be making sure I fall asleep, not you. That's why Edward is giving you this break."
"Can't we both fall asleep?" Wysteria asked.
"My back hurts too much." Bella said. Carlisle thinks the baby is kicking at it harder than they should. Wysteria leaned towards Bella's baby bump.
"Calm down in there little one." Wysteria whispered. "Don't be hurting mama." Bella laughed a little, rubbing her stomach. Not long ago, Edward had realized he could read the baby's thoughts. Bella, Wysteria, and Alice had been walking around outside, letting Bella get some fresh air when Edward paused suddenly and looked towards Alice and Wysteria.
"What?" Wysteria asked with a laugh. Edward looked down at Bella.
"What were you just thinking?"
"That... My feet hurt a little." Bella said. "Why?" Edward got down on one knee next to Bella, one hand on her stomach. Bella put her hand over his lightly. "What's wrong? Is the baby okay?" Edward had such a stern expression on his face that when it softened into a smile, Wysteria breathed a sigh of relief.
"I... I can hear their thoughts." Edward said. Bella looked like she was about to cry.
"Really? What are they thinking? Oh my gosh that's amazing Edward."
"They're thinking about how much they love you. Earlier they had a brief thought about how they loved me though and I thought I was hearing your thoughts for the first time but.." Edward slowly stood, hand still on Bella's stomach. "It's them. They can hear us, understand us." That's when Bella started to cry.
"I love you too little one." Bella said as Edward wiped at her tears. "Edward and I both love you so much and we can't wait to meet you."
"They're really happy." Edward said before he kissed Bella with a smile. Bella kissed him back and Alice pulled Wysteria away slightly to give the two of them a moment. Wysteria had laughed a little as she and Alice walked away.
