Caroline was awoken by a gentle nudge from Riley. The raven haired girl was sitting at the edge of the bed patiently, holding a plate of pancakes that were quite haphazardly stacked with a candle stuck in.

"Carrie, wake up" Riley whined one a half-whisper.

The girl stretched up, rubbed her eyes for a while and yawning. She was quite disoriented and it took her a minute to remember where she was.

"Happy birthday!" Riley exclaimed the moment her eyes had opened fully.

"Oh-oh! Thank you Riley holy moly you're the sweetest" Caroline squealed, taking the plate from the girl and grinning widely at her.

Riley smiled back, happy to see her friend happy. She then practically jumped down off the bed and began rummaging around a nearby backpack violently, much to Caroline's confusion.

"It's not much but-" she explained as she retook her place on the bed, crossing her legs up before brandishing a plethoras of different handmade bracelets "me and bev made you a bunch of these whenever you were distracted by Richie, which is always, so here"

Caroline practically snatched the colourful bracelets out of her hand, swiftly placing each onto her wrist. Once they were all secured on, she twisted her wrist about, admiring each.

"Hush up! I love them! You're the best ever" Caroline yelped as she threw herself forward, holding Riley in a tight hug.

"Alright whatever" Riley insisted, her voice muffled at first by Carolines' shoulder before she managed to free herself from the girls grasp "now eat up dumbass, we're probably meeting the others later and I doubt you want to be late to seeing the love of your liiiiffeee"

"Stop that Riley! I do not like Richie!" Caroline pouted as she took her first mouthful of the pancakes.

"How did you even know I was talking about Richie?" Riley continued to tease

"I-well-who-you" Caroline began in panic, before glaring at the very amused Riley "stop!"

Riley simply held up her hands in defence, stealing a chunk from the side of one of Caroline's pancakes and stuffing it in her mouth.

As Caroline continued to eat her breakfast at a leisurely pace, she glanced quickly at her little baby blue calculator watch. The time was 11:35.

It's 11:35.

She was suddenly hit by a grave realisation, speeding her hand and begging to shovel the food into her mouth.

"Jesus slow down! You'll choke dumbass!" Riley scolded as she pulled the now almost empty plate away from Caroline, who then jumped up off the bed frantically grabbing a dress from her bag.

"I'm sorry! Thank you so much for everything but I just realised if I don't get back to see Eddie and Mrs. K for my birthday, they'll both spaz out!" Caroline explained as she quickly stripped off and jumped into her dress, now tying her shoes faster than humanly possible.

"Good luck with that you idiot. I'll see ya later" Riley said with a chuckle as Caroline shot up and stuffed the last of her belongings into her bag.

"Bye Riley! I love you! Thanks for everything! Tell your parents I said thanks too!" Caroline called to her friend as she began hurriedly walking out the door and down the hall.

"Tell Wheezy I say hey!"

"Don't call him that!!"

Caroline let her bike fall down in the driveway of the Kaspbrak residence, running up to the front door like a lunatic.

She glanced at her watch again as she knocked gently on the door. 12:15. She hadn't made bad time at all. She knew she'd have to leave soon enough though.
