Chapter Twenty-Four

Once mike had joined the rest of the group in the small tunnel, they all turned to continue deeper into the sewers.

"Where the fuck is stan?!" Riley exclaimed in dismay, whipping her head around in all directions in search of her friend.

"Shit! Stanley!" Eddie called as they all began lowering themselves into a waterlogged pipe in the system.

"Shit, grey water" Richie muttered to himself as he helped Caroline climb down out of the tunnel,everyone still calling Stans name as they walked down the pipe.

Everyone screamed stans name, pointing flashlights and searching every possible area as they continued. The search was beginning to feel hopeless to the group, until they heard a blood-curdling scream echoe down the pipe.

"Stan!" Riley yelled, pushing past bill and making her way towards the noise with great haste.

Everyone else followed after her, finding it rather hard to keep up with the girl as her fast walk soon turned to full-blown sprint when they finally neared the noise.

Soon the group reached a door. A small flimsy looking door. The noise was coming from the other side, it was obvious. The losers all began pushing and pulling at it, desperately wanting to reach their friend.

"We're coming man!" Bill shouted as the door began to get looser.

"We're coming don't worry!" Riley yelled, giving the door one final shoulder as it caved in.

They all clamoured to enter the large open space, pointing their flashlights around to get their bearings.

"Stanley!!" Eddie yelled once again

"Stan where are you?!" Caroline shouted out, a discarded flashlight catching her eye.

She moved quickly towards it, picking it up clumsily. The light immediately landed on a horrific sight, causing the girl to screech in terror as she jumped back and collided with the group.

There stan was, with some monsters mouth completely engulfing his head. He lay there as if he were dead, motionless and soundless.

"What the fuck is that thing?!" Richie screeched, grabbing onto Caroline's shoulders and pulling her backwards with him.

"What are guys you doing?! Get it off of him!!" Riley exclaimed tearfully as the rest of the group continued to watch in scream in horror.

Riley began stomping towards stan without hesitation, risking her own life in the process.

"Riley!! Riley stop!" Eddie insisted to her.

"Don't do this Riley! Stay back! Please!" Caroline called out to her, attempting to run forward to stop her, but was prevented from doing so as she was still being held back by Richie.

The monster removed its teeth from the sides of Stans head, revealing prominent bite marks and Stan gasping for air. It moved backwards, squawking at them like some sort of animal.

Riley moved immediately to kneel down beside Stan,pulling him towards her so he could sit up. The rest of the group remained screaming as the heck monster moved into the shadows, gruesomely transforming back into the clown, grinning at the group menacingly.

"Holy shit!"

"Oh my fucking god!"

"Holy fucking shit!"

The clown skulked off to god knows where, leaving the group alone once again. The tunnel was filled with nothing but panting and Stans groans.

"Oh my god Stan!" Eddie shouted, starting towards where he lay with Riley, everyone else following behind him.
