How is my heart stretched across the seas
It doesn't have that much elasticity
Spread paper thin, it is soon to break
But I think that was always my fate
How is my heart in love with someone
Who doesn't live under the same sun
With someone who is under the moon
When my time is only noon
How does my heart feel like it's breaking
When yours wasn't even mine for the taking
I told her not to be naïve
But these feelings we had just wouldn't leave
How will my heart handle when you are gone
Longing for you to sing a song
The song you sung to me, my lullaby
How painfully it will be when you say goodbye
How is my heart stretched across the seas
Maybe because you liked me for me
Teaching me things about myself I never knew
It's scary to think that I might love you
