Darilyn leans against the alley wall of the red bricked storefront slightly out of breath . she rests her head against the wall exhaling in relief at having not been caught by them. she's relieved for now. her ears twitch when she hears footsteps approaching from down the street. super hearing is a fucked up serum based power to have on its own she thinks.

she'd just ran out of a store from Susan and the girls, bullies who'd picked on her a few weeks ago in school. her anxiety is shooting through the roof right now and she desperately wants to calm herself down.

she wished her Aunt Natasha was with her she'd be able to put them in their place.

she'd been browsing in  the shop for a hoody for Wanda, a birthday present for her upcoming birthday and she was mortified that she had panicked and ran away from them but her fight or flight response was hard wired towards flight.

she also was nursing a sore wrist and knew she wouldn't be able to fight them off this time. Dr.Banner and Dr. Cho had both made her wear a wrist support and that if she didn't keep it on there'd be hell to pay. she wished she had super healing powers then she'd be able to take them on in a fight but there's nothing she can do now.

these girls have been terrorizing her for months and she freaks out whenever they're nearby. it's starting to seriously hinder her life she thinks in irritation. she realizes she needs someone's help. usually she's a step ahead of them with the enhanced hearing she has now  but they'd caught her off-guard today.

she takes in a deep breath stealing herself to run across the street but then she hears them nearby, the bullies.

she texts the only person who she knows is still at Stark tower right now, Bucky.

he texts her back that he's on his way to pick her up, he already knows what the situation is with these bullies and he'll put them in their places if he has to. he'd offered to sort them out a week ago but she'd declined in fear of retribution. he'd kept a close eye on her ever since then convinced she might need his help.

she'd switched her phone to silent upon realizing the bullies were nearby. she doesn't see his response to her plea for help she just hopes he will turn up soon.

they're so close she can overhear their conversation, she hopes they don't see or hear her. she presses closer to the red brick wall behind her.

"who knows where she ran off to, what do you care anyways Susan, you hate her" Sandra points out matter of factly. she folds her arms in front of her and starts popping the chewing gum in her mouth as she eyes Susan with disdain.

"I don't hate her" Susan growls back in her defense. Darilyn can hear Susan's heartbeat pounding in her chest as she restlessly paces beside Sandra.

"eh yeah, ya do. you said you'd punch her face in the next time you saw her" Sandra contradicts her. she tries not to laugh in Susan's face when she defends herself, these little trips to catch the Barton  girl are starting to feel like a waste of time to Sandra. she feels her time would be better spent at home studying for her British naval history test coming up next week.

"yeah but it's not as simple as that. I don't hate her, I just don't like her hanging out with Keith and our friends, that's all" Susan huffs  out angrily. she needs Sandra to understand, she's her best friend she has to understand Susan needs her help.
