Never in all my life did I think I'd ever come back to Derry it just bought back all the bad memories from my childhood, I walked round the corner from the main street until I reached the Synagogue I stopped outside and took a deep breath before walking up the stairs through the main doors and into the main room.
As I stepped into the main room one of my worst memories came flooding back to me and instantly I felt scared, I sat down on one of the seats nearby all I could hear was my father screaming at me as the flashback started.
(Flashback)
( S: = Stanley and SF: Stanley's father)
S: It's funny though everyone I think has some memories their prouder of than others, and maybe that's why change is so scary. Cause the things we wish we could forget, the whispers we wish we could silence, the nightmares we most want to wake up from, the memories we wish we could change, the secrets we feel like we have to keep they are the hardest to walk away from.
The Good stuff the pictures in our mind that fade away the fastest, there the pieces of you which are the easiest to loose. Maybe I don't want to forget, maybe if that's what today is all about then just forget it right.
SF: Thank you Stanley
S: Uh today I'm supposed to become a man but I don't feel any different, I I know I'm a looser and no matter what I always F*cking will be.
(Stanley walked out of the doors at the back of the hall, he walked into his fathers office and took some deep breaths. He turned around intending to leave but his father was stood in front of the door he was looking down at the floor as he said 'Your mother is in pieces out there, your an embarrassment Stanley'. Stanley swallowed hard and said 'I had to tell the truth, now move I'm going home', Stanley's father's eyes went red with fury as he said 'You dare speak to me like that, your not going anywhere Stanley'
Stanley stepped back as his father came towards him and grabbed him by the hair and punched Stanley several times in the ribs and once in the stomach. Stanley lay on the floor in agony and watched as his father walked out of the room and closed the door leaving Stanley alone in the dark. After a while Stanley finally felt well enough to stand up, he stumbled towards the door and walked out through the crowds of people in the synagogue I spotted Richie sitting on one of the chairs looking bored he looked up and saw me and state my face was in, I quickly walked outside and then I heard Richie calling my name.
Richie grabbed my wrist which I sharply pulled free he stepped back and said 'Stan wait, please just stop. Who did this to you', Stanley wrapped his arms around his stomach and said 'It was my father Richie'. Richie looked down at the floor and said 'What can I do to help you Stanley' before walking away Stanley said 'I can handle it, but there is one thing you can do', Richie nodded and said 'Anything just tell me' Stanley said 'Go and tell Bill your sorry')
(End of Flashback)
I stood in front of the microphone in exactly the same spot I had stood on that day, I looked down at the floor and found my birds book. I picked it up and sat down on one of the chairs behind me and looked through the book until I got to the back page, where there were two photos one of my mother and me and the second of my father and me, I put the photo my mother and I back in the book and folded the other one up and put it in my pocket.
I stood up and turned around and all over the walls written in blood were the words I heard my father say frequently throughout my childhood 'Your an embarrassment Stanley', and then I heard the sound of a flute playing. Looking around I couldn't see the creepy woman from the painting that had haunted my dreams as a child, I turned back towards the door only to be met by the face of Pennywise I quickly stepped away as he laughed and said 'Your father hated you, your mother hated you, all your friends hate you and Bill hates you'
I covered my ears and said 'That's not true, Bill loves me. Just leave me and my friends alone you freak'.
Pennywise laughed sinisterly and said 'I'll be seeing you very soon Stanley'.
