zach took his usual seat in the welcoming cafe. he was a daily "customer" here. he came almost every day after school, and stayed as long as he could

he took out his iPad and immediately opened Adobe Draw, letting his eyes quickly scan his list of drawings. immediately after, he pressed the small orange "+" at the bottom of his screen, choosing the Tabloid format

a smile crept onto his lips and he selected the picture he had just recently took, enlarging it on the page, and began to trace

zach only traces his drawings when he wants to learn something new. most of his sketches were his own, from memory or just trying out his techniques. but this time it was different

this was different

zach has never drawn curly hair. let alone on a guy. he usually focuses on facial features, such as eyes, mouth, nose, etc. he wanted to get those down before anything else. but this captured his attention

he glanced up from his iPad and looked at the boy a few tables away from him. from where he was sitting, it gave zach a perfect view of his profile, and he could easily make out the look on his face; confusion.

the nameless boy, to zach, had his eyes squinted, eyebrows furrowed, and a small, almost-not-there, frown tugging on his lips

his glasses, in the picture zach took, were pressed against the space in between his eyebrows. now, as zach looked at him, the boys glasses were down a bit. from the way he face was tilted downwards, zach knew that his glasses must have slid down a bit

zach subconsciously smiled again and looked down at his iPad before the boy could catch him staring

he selected his favorite brush, edited the settings on it, and starting to carefully trace the boy's hair. as each curl was drawn, zach got used to the motion of the unknown hair. it was different to draw this

each curl went a different way. some were stuck together. some in a total different direction, causing excitement to the drawing. different sizes, and on certain people, different shapes

zach loved it.

he had drawn hair several times, that was before his more recent drawings though. as said before, zach focused on facial features. it was easy to read people's faces, drawing helped zach learn people more

but with each trace of these curls, it brought wonder to zach's mind. he definitely was going to draw hair more often

he double tapped his screen, having the original picture disappear so he could see his progress. it didn't look too bad, in his opinion. from the low opacity he could see each and every stroke. detail is key

he let the picture reappear and continued his tracing. zach has never traced someone that he has seen infront of him before. he usually just finds pictures off Google or on Instagram. big celebrities. that's what he mostly based his 'eye' drawings off of
