a/n!: please note that this is a few months before will disappears! mike, lucas, will, and dustin will be introduced in the story later on! ❤️

it has been a few weeks since i've been with jennifer and david. my hair has grown down to my shoulders.

jen and dave have been so kind to me. they've fed me every night and gave me clothes and even took me shopping.

i was sitting in my room; yes, jennifer has given me the room; when i heard david call me for supper.

"twelve! time for dinner!" he called from the kitchen. i got up from my bed and ran to the kitchen.

when i got there, i sat down and waited for a plate to placed in front of me.

jennifer smiles and put a glass plate in front of me. david and jennifer sat down and began eating.

i did the same. david wipes his mouth with the napkin beside him. "so, twelve, we have a very serious topic to talk to you about..." he began.

this got my attention and i lifted my head up. "do you know what school is?" he asked. i shook my head.

"school is a place where your learn things that you need for the future" jen explained. i nodded. "we signed you up to go to school is what dave is trying to say."

"will there be other...p-people there?" i asked, scared a little. jen nodded. "well yes, but you can make friends and hang out with them" she smiled.

i nodded not knowing what was in store for me. or what friends or hang out meant.

"you'll start tomorrow morning, which means you'll have to go to bed at nine tonight and wake up at six forty five" she explained.

"that's early" i said. "yes, but people wake up early for school all the time" she said.

"okay" i agreed. "i'll help you pick out an outfit for tomorrow, you'll be fine, okay?" she reassured me.

i nodded and continued to eat my food.

~Later that night~

i sat at the end of my bed, watching jennifer lay out clothes for me to wear to this school thing.

she picked out jean overalls and a pink shirt that showed my stomach a little bit. she told me to be basic and comfortable, whatever that meant.

she showed me the final outfit like i hadn't seen it. along with some bright yellow "converse"; she called them that; that looked incredibly hard to put on.

"okay, i'll wake you up tomorrow morning" she smiled. she walked closer to me and planted a kiss on my forehead.

she smiled. "i'm sorry, you remind me of my daughter so much, i use to tuck her in and kiss her goodnight every night" she gave me a sad smile, her eyes watery.

"it's okay, jen" i smiled back. she pulled the cover farther up me. "goodnight, twelve" she said, standing next to the door.

"goodnight, jen."

~the next morning~

someone was softly shaking me to wake me up.
