Chapter Three:
Running and Gnomes
Charlotte's Pov
We kept running, these little garden gnomes are chasing after us though the forest. I had no idea what they were or if they were real but we kept running, me and my best friend Louie.
We had just escaped from the orphanage. It was a terrible place there. You would think in this modern time they wouldn't beat children, lock them in a closet for the day, Not feed you for the day, oh what they got away with. We made a plan during dinner by not going and hiding in one of the supply rooms. Since Louie was a boy, he was in the mirrored building from mine and everyone met and ate in the meeting house. We got out by digging under the cement wall, one distracting the teachers in another direction while the other digs with a spoon.
All of it ran through my mind as my body ran with it. Us escaping, running from town to town in Oregon.
Louie looked winded and finally he stopped. I slowed and stopped ten feet ahead of him. The small men surrounded us with I'm guess the leader holding a shovel menacingly.
"Sooooooo come into the forest for adventure?" The lead Gnome asked.
"Umm, yes?" said Louie, Half freaked out and half questionable.
The leader threw the shovel. "You lovely ladies want to be our queens?" He said.
What now?
"Actually I'm a-" Louie tried to say.
"Silence girly! Now let me introduce myself I'm Jeff the guys behind me is Carson, Steve, Jason, and you um you..."
"Shmebulock." Said Shmebulock.
"Right, Shmebulock, I always forget your name. So what do you say," Jeff takes out a box and signals one of the gnomes for another box. He opened the boxes and handed it to us. "Will you marry all of us and be are queens?"
I looked between Louie, the gnomes, and the rings. So was Louie. I think we both were thinking the same thing. We started to book it.
Louie turned his head and his eyes almost bulged out of his head. I turned too and then I saw it. The gnomes were all creating a gigantic gnome out of themselves. I screamed and ran a little faster, Louie running a head of me.
We got out of the woods, well not really, but we saw a building in the clearing and ran to the porch. I looked around aimlessly for a weapon to defend are selves but there was nothing. We were trapped.
The gnome army stopped and Jeff was on top of the army making his way down the gnome army. Once he was on the ground he pulled out the rings in the boxes and got on one knee, the gnome army doing the same.
"Whoa, déjà vu, you guys remeber this from the beginning of the summer?" The gnomes nodded making the gnome structure unsteady, some almost falling. Jeff chuckled. "Anywho, will you ladies be our aaahhhh!" A man with a leaf blower, the ones you put on your back, blew Jeff away, the rings falling to the ground.
