(Y/N) Pov:

I was seated at one of the tables at the restaurant.

I had my chin resting on one of my hands, my elbow propped up on the table as the fingers on my other hand tapped impatiently on the table.

Looking around, I saw several other demons with their dates.

I spotted two Spider demons sitting together at one table. I recognized the female to be Arachné. The male Spider demon was big and fluffy with several eyes, a fedora and a matching bowtie.

I continued looking around and spotted a female Wolf demon with a male Skeleton demon. She had light grey fur with pink, yellow, and purple hair, pastel colored. Her red dress was short with a mesh fabric over her belly with a couple of rips on the hem. Her husband, I can assume, is wearing a dark red suit with a gold skeleton pin. He also had dark brown hair.

I rolled my eyes.

I’m glad my ex broke up with me. He was an asshole, as I’ve mentioned before.

I don’t want to rush into any relationships at the moment anyway. I just want to do my job. I don’t need any distractions.

I sighed, aggravated.

“Where the fuck is he!?” I asked myself angrily.

I just wanted to get this night over with so I can finish my job. The deadline is tomorrow, meaning I need to check Tom’s computer at his home and at his office at work. If he ends up being the target, I’m going to have to take him out.

I can probably just ask him if he wanted to go on another date and eliminate him. Or maybe I can drag him into a storage room and slit his throat when he’s distracted.

As I thought of ways to eliminate him, a shadow appeared with my cellphone.

I took the cellphone and found that Hacker had texted me.

Hacker: I’ve checked all of the files, and even did a document scan with specific keywords to see if I could find a match to the files stolen. It found no matches, and I even hacked into all servers after getting frustrated to save you the time in searching. I sent out a keyword search and it pinged back with the exact files stolen. Want to know the good bit?

Me: What?

Hacker: The pingback came from one of Tom Trench’s computers. I couldn’t figure out the location since he has a login for only work, and both computers have that login. I’m going to need some extra time, but if you can get to his house and wait for the perfect moment to check the one he has at home. You just need to log on and disable the anti-virus software and I’ll be able to search through it. Both computers have the fucking anti-hack virus protection software, meaning I won’t be able to enter their PCs to steal information until they get disabled. Dang, my only weakness.

Me: Ok. Tom seems like the kind of guy to take a woman home with him after a date. I’ll make sure to play along. I’m gonna sneak in some sleeping drugs into his drink at his place so he’ll pass out. It’ll give me enough time to hack into his PC and disable the software. I’ll send you a message once it’s down. You know the rest

“Sorry I’m late (Y/N). Traffic on the way here was terrible” said Tom, chuckling as he took a seat across the table from me.

“Oh yeah. I didn’t have to worry about traffic since I flew here” I say, chuckling. I handed my phone to a shadow as I summoned it. It disappeared into the void with it.

“Who were you texting?” he asked curiously, cocking his head to the side. He was wearing the same suit he normally wore for work. I must say, the burns healed nicely. It’s as if he never caught on fire. Not that it matters anyway, considering he’s the target.
