this was what sicheng could only think.
his emotions got the best of him and he accidentally lashed out on rena, someone who he truly cared about.

he screams into his pillow followed by a knock on his door.

in comes yangyang, angry.

"what did you do?" the younger boy asks.

"i didnt mean-"

"rena is the most caring human being in this palace, i hope you know that she was only trying to be there for you."

"i know yang, i was just-"

"angry with yourself? because you cant do one small task that would make you oh so happy?" yangyang yells.

sicheng keeps quiet.

"if youre worried about your title in weishien, dont." sicheng looks at his brother, tears forming in the younger eyes.

"gege, you dont have to follow what everyone expects you to be. please just do what you want to do, follow sicheng's rules. not weishien's."

sicheng hadnt noticed that yangyang was crying, the boy was emotional from what his best friend was told, emotional that his brother couldnt be himself. he just wanted to make everyone feel happy.

sicheng now wanted to hug yangyang, to tell him he was happy. to tell him thank you for advice that he was now thinking deeply about.

rena walks in, hearing the shouts from down the hall.

"yangyang?" she hugs him and he sobs into her shoulder. "sorry sicheng that he yelled at you, i didnt know he would do this."

sicheng shakes his head.

"dont be, i deserved it. im sorry too rena."

she smiles softly while rubbing the back of the boy in her arms. she leads him out the room and closes the door on the way out.

she doesnt deserve this.
