It Would Seem
It would seem
In 2017
I had big plans.
I had lost weight
But it found me
And brought some friends
To stay for tea.
Bad habits to break
Well, I didn't have time
Too good at successfully
Losing my mind
All the promises
I intended to keep
Kept me up at night
While trying to sleep.
The children however
Are doing well.
At least...
Wait... No...one just fell!
Okay, back.
Just a scratched knee
Guess getting distracted
Runs in the family.
So what's in store
For 2018?
Can't say, not sure,
Not anymore...
Perhaps, I'll no longer
Stay up late
See if me and my hubby
Can sneak off to a date
I'll try and teach my sons
A little bit more
About manners and values
Before shoved out the door.
I'll have to go back to work
With both boys off to school.
Spending all my days worrying
Feeling like a fool.
Everyone will tell me
They will be just fine
But I can't stop
Feeling the passing of time.
So, I guess in 2018
I best get my act together
As the hardest lesson learned this year
Is nothing lasts forever.
I'll appreciate each moment
Each smile and kiss
Because loving life
Depends entirely on this.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
