I walk through the office to my cubicle. I grab my most valuable things that I don't want left here while I'm gone. I look over at Jake and see him smiling at me.

"So, I hear that you are going to London to write some article! That's awesome." Jake stands up and hugs me. "Congratulations!"

"How did you hear that?" I am shocked that he knows.

"Dave told me, well he told everyone. He said you are writing a millennial story and since you just graduated college you would be perfect. I'm jealous, but so excited." Jake has a big smile. "I was about to go to lunch, want to join me?"

"I would love to, but I have some last minute Christmas shopping to do." What am I saying? I can do the shopping after I get my hair done. "Actually, let's go to lunch. I can do my shopping after."

"Awesome. I was thinking street hot dogs and I need your help picking out a gift for my mom." Jake stands up and puts his jacket on.

"Perfect." I only have my two youngest sisters to shop for so I'm sure I can pick them up stuff along the way. "Let's go."

Jake and I leave the office. We quietly ride the elevator down to the lobby. Once we step outside into the cold New York air Jake steps closer to me.

"Too bad you aren't going somewhere warm." Jake laughs as he holds his coat closer to his body.

We walk up the street to our favorite hot dog seller. I like him, because he has the cleanest cart and his hot dogs are delicious. Jake likes them, because its the closest cart to our office. We both order our food. As I go to pay for mine, Jake stops me. I argue with him, but I eventually let him pay.

Once we get our hot dogs we continue walking up the street to where all the stores are. We eat our food in silence. Jake and I are the same this way. We like to sit and eat our food and then we will talk. If Jake wasn't with me I would have gotten two hot dogs, but I didn't want to look like I eat too much in front of him. We both finish our hot dogs quickly so we can go into a store that is warm. Once we walk into the store we relax.

"I cannot wait for summer," I announce.

"Will you be back by then?" Jake looks at me and asks.

"I hope so." That's five months away. I might die if I'm still undercover then.

Jake grabs my hand and pulls me over to the jewelry. I get excited as our hands touch, even though it only lasts a few seconds.

"I was thinking of getting my mom a necklace. What do you think?" Jake looks at me for approval.

"I bet she would love that if she likes jewelry." I smile at him.

We look at all the necklaces that this jewelry store has. By the time we have looked at everything Jake can't decide between two necklaces. One necklace has pearls and the other has diamonds. I don't know Jake's mom, so I can't really help him.

"Which do I choose?" Jake asks.

"Is your mom worried about looking older?" My mom would never wear pearls. She says that only old people wear them.

"Yeah." Jake laughs. "She worries about looking older."

"Don't get her the pearls then, trust me." I grab the diamond necklace and hand it to Jake. "The diamonds are the better choice."

"You heard the lady, we will get this one!" Jake tells the salesmen. I wait by the door as Jake pays for the necklace. I look at my watch and I'm surprised that an hour has passed. Time just flies when I'm with Jake. As Jake walks back over to me he says, "what do you want to do now?"
