"So?" Jill looks at me with a playful smirk.
"So what?" I stare at her in confusion.
"So how is Niall?" Jill looks down at my phone. "You are texting him, aren't you?"
"He is good." I look down at my phone as well. "He is excited for our date tomorrow."
"Good. What are your plans for tomorrow?" Jill asks somewhat giddy about the date.
"Niall is taking me somewhere special. That's all I know." I smile at Jill's reaction. She is ecstatic.
"And you haven't talked to Zayn?" Jill raises an eyebrow.
"No," I sigh.
When I told Jill about Zayn she was surprisingly calm about it. Maybe she was calm, because she knew I ended up going home with Niall. Either way she listened to everything I had to say. We haven't given Dave the details yet. All he knows is that Niall and I are going on a date.
"We have to tell Dave," Jill admits.
"Why?" It is like she is reading my mind.
"Because he always finds these things out. Its freaky." Jill sounds like she actually believes that.
"Let's get it over with." I internally groan at the idea of telling Dave about my date with a guy that wasn't Niall.
Jill picks up her phone and dials Dave's number. Surprisingly Dave answers after one ring. Jill usually has to call him a few times.
"Hello dear." He sounds happy. At least I think so. I have never heard him happy.
"Hi baby," Jill exclaims. She loves him so much. "We have to tell you something."
"You said we. I'm guessing Veronica did something." Dave's voice is laced in disgust.
"Hey, I'm right here and my mistake made everything work out." I sigh in frustration.
There's a moment of silence.
"Are you going to tell me or just waste my time?" Dave's happy tone is long gone. Disgust has taken over.
"Well after our last conversation Jill told me to go take a breather, so I went to the grocery store. I bumped into this guy. We, um," I hesitate. I prepare myself for the yelling. "He asked me out and when we went on the date I still hadn't heard from Niall. I went to the coffee shop to try to run into Niall. I was told he had meetings all day, so I went on my date with no concerns. Within fifteen minutes of being at the restaurant Niall showed up with Liam and some other men. Niall was jealous and he took me home. He asked me out again and we have been texting ever since."
"Why am I not surprised?" I can just picture Dave looking smug and annoyed. "Good to know you can't do one job."
"Dave she has handled everything perfectly. Her pushing Niall away has only drawn him in." Jill sounds upset. "This is a game to him. Just like we expected."
"Have you kissed him or been physical with him at all?" Dave's voice bugs me.
"Why do I feel like you already know?" There is silence, which I interpret as me having to answer. "Niall has held my hand a few times. I hugged him a couple days ago."
"If you keep that up he will get bored." Dave sounds bored himself. "Kiss him the next time you see him."
"And what if I'm not comfortable with that?" I hate this.
"Then you shouldn't have taken this job," Dave states.
There is a moment of silence, a door opening and then it being slammed shut.
