"Deep breaths. This is fine. You will be fine." Jill tells me as she runs her hands down the bottom of my dress. "Niall is clearly smitten by you. Just keep doing what you are doing."

"Don't you think this is going just a little too well? Why is Niall doing everything we want him to?" For once I'm not nervous for the actual date, but I am nervous about this whole situation.

"Maybe you swept him off his feet. We wanted this to be a whirlwind romance and it seems to be one. We want things to move fast." Jill says, trying to comfort me.

"It just seems off. I thought Niall was supposed to be a jerk." He has been too nice.

"You don't work for him or work against him. Of course he isn't going to be mean to you." Jill smirks at me. "Your boobs probably help the situation as well."

"Jill!" I jokingly smack her arms. She stands up straight and looks at me. "Do I look okay?"

"Yes. Your hair being down in loose curls makes this look perfect. Definitely a New Year's Eve party outfit," Jill says. "Have lots of fun. Fun for the both of us since I will be here alone."

"I'm sorry you have to spend the night alone. What is Dave doing tonight?" I don't want to ask, but I do.

"His family has a huge party every year so he is with them. I will call him once you are gone." Jill clearly misses Dave.

"Well Niall should be here any time so you don't have to wait much longer." I smile at Jill, hopefully comforting her.

"He should be here by now." Jill looks down at her phone.

"Don't get nervous now. I'm sure he is just running late or something." As I say the words there is a knock on my door. "See? Go hide."

I watch as Jill walks down my hallway and hides in my room. I smile at how stupid this is. I grab my black pea coat and my black clutch and walk to the door. I open it to find a man I do not know. He is tall and overweight. His dark hair is slicked back and his brown eyes look at me. I can't tell if he is friendly or not. He seems annoyed, but he is wearing one of those stupid suits that personal drivers wear. I would be annoyed too.

"Uh, can I help you?" I look around the hallway confused.

"Are you Ronnie?" The man asks with a deep voice. I slowly nod my head yes while taking a step back into my apartment. "Mr. Horan asked me to come get you. He is downstairs in the car stuck on the phone."

"Oh okay. Let's go." I walk out of my apartment and I make sure to lock my door. As we silently walk to the elevator I put on my coat. I look over at the man. No wonder he seems annoyed. I would hate his job. Maybe I can cheer him up. As we step onto the elevator I strike up a conversation with this man. "You know my name. What's yours?"

"Its Robert," he says curtly.

"That's nice." I say somewhat awkwardly. "Do you work with Niall?"

"I work FOR Mr. Horan." Robert clarifies.

"I bet that's fun," I sound sarcastic. Whoops.

"You betcha." Robert smiles and I relax. I seem to have broken his moodiness.

"I hope he is nice to you," I say sincerely.

"He can be." I get the vibe that Robert is lying. "Well, he can be professional."

"Hmm, let's see if we can move him past that to nice. Shall we?" If Niall really does like me then I'm sure he will be nice to this guy just to suck up to me.

Or this could backfire and this poor man gets fired.

"Good luck with that." Robert has amusement written all over his face.
