I gulp the water down and glance at the clock in my kitchen. 2:18, fantastic. I ran my fingers through my hair and sit on the counter, recalling my dream. Or should I say nightmare. Jeff stabbed me instead, I shake my head. I jump off the counter and start walking upstairs until I hear a knock on the door, I raise an eyebrow and open the door.
"Hey... LJ..." Brandi says, biting her lip.
"What do you want BJ" I smile. Our nicknames for each other because we both have the middle name Jane.
"I'm sorry... I was upset and depressed, I didn't think of how you would take it... I had another nightmare and thought... What if Layla is dealing with this too? So.. I decided to come over, hoping that you were awake or something.."
"Well I am, I also had a nightmare." I say, I move to the side so she can walk inside. She comes in and looks around. "The house looks nice." She says. Of course it does, we moved just months after the incident, I couldn't sleep in that house. I walk over to the kitchen.
"So, uh. What's that?" I ask and point to a bag in her hand.
"Oh! I almost forgot. Chocolate." She says, grinning. I laugh, her mother is a baker so she always has extra chocolate laying around.
"Wait... But what about what you did to me..." I bit my lip, she frowns.
"I feel so guilty about that, I'm so sorry, please forgive me. I'll understand completely." I smile a bit.
"I could never hate you BJ." I say. I walk over to her and hug her.
"So for that chocolate." I grin and take the bag, opening it. "So, have you seen Daniel? The new guy." She squeals, looking like she just met Dylan O'Brien or something.
"Yeah, he has the locker next to mine. And... Al is his half brother.." Her eyes immediately go wide.
"What!? I had no idea!" She says as she munches on chocolate.
"Wait how do you know that?" She asks. I bite my lip. "He may have told me after school when we ran into each other at the police station..." I mumble, looking down. She raises an eyebrow.
"Oh? So do you have any classes together?" She tilts her head.
"Chemistry and English." I say. She grins.
"You have chemistry together? That doesn't surprise me." I blush bright pink.
"We just have the class together." She rolls her eyes.
"Yeah yeah. Whatever. Is it okay if I spend the night? I left a note saying I decided to make amends with you."
"Of course you can, let's put this chocolate away." We put it away and then walk upstairs. We walk into my room and lay on the bed.
"I missed you LJ." She says softly.
"I missed you too BJ." I mumble as I fall asleep.
