"Wait, wait, wait, so basically, this 'Valtor' is a glorified ice cube?" James asked Maria, causing the rest of the class to burst out laughing.

"Yes, well, that's one way to put it, Mr Potter." Maria laughed, shaking her head as he took a bow and sat back down, only to have Sirius pull his chair from under him.

And with that, the bell rang.

"No homework tonight," she told the class as they hurried out the door to their next class. But before the marauders could leave, Maria called them back.

"You four stay back for a minute"

The four wondered what Ms Lightly wanted them for. "Were they in trouble? No; she couldn't know about the frog in Professor Kettleburn's tea; could she" They thought.

"So, what are we going to do for Halloween. It's only a couple weeks away!" Maria asked them, using her magic to tidy away any loose papers.
They hadn't thought about Halloween yet.

It was a tradition for the marauders and Maria to pull the best prank on Halloween (with Dumbledore's approval of course).

"I have an idea," she told them, sitting down at her desk, getting them to huddle around her.

It was a prank she had pulled on the students when she was at Hogwarts. But this time, it would be bigger and better. She quickly told them the plan before shoo-ing them off to their next class.

Maria was finished teaching for the day, so she headed down to the great hall for an early dinner and to chat with the other professors.
