You've never had horrible nightmares, reaccuring near-deaths experiences, rocketing anxiety and depression levels, strong ptsd, or any of that fun jazz. But you can't say the same for your finace, Tony Stark.

Throughout all his episodes and troubles, you have always been by his side. And you always will be. But maybe it was the exposure to his chaotic world that caused you to always be worried.

That worrying gave you anxiety, leading to really high blood pressure, which gave you loopy medications, which gave you some newfound night terrors, which caused you to wake up at 3:00 a.m. on your balcony, staring at nothing, with a banket bundled around you.

"Y/N? You shouldn't be awake this early. Not getting anough sleep can lower your sex drive you know. I should know, I'm the master of not sleeping. What's wrong?" Tony came up behind you and put his chin on your shoulder, the arrogant sarcasm you've come to love evident in his voice.

You sighed, "Woke up and couldn't fall back asleep. You don't have to stay up because of me. This is the first time you've rested in two weeks."

He shook his head, "Sleep is for the week sweetheart. Now answer my question, whats wrong"

"I think that medicine I've been taking is the root to some pretty constant nightmares i've been having." You responded.

Tony furrowed his eyebrows, "What? Y/N, you didn't say anything about nightmares. I'm sorry I haven't been there for you. I'm horrib-"

You cut him off, "No no Tony. It's all good. I don't know. Recently my dreams have been, me lying flat somewhere in the darkness. A clock was ticking, continually getting louder and louder until it became overwhelming. All of a sudden it would stop and there would be a very soft laughter next to my ear. I'll wake up instantly but the moment I hear the clock in our room ticking, it's like I'm paralyzed with fear."

The strong arms on your waist got a bit tighter, "I hate myself for making you apart my messed up world. You're life was so peaceful and now... How do you deal with me?"

You frantically shook your head, "Goodness, Tony stop the bullshit. Peaceful? Maybe. Boring and useless. Fuck yeah. I'm not suffering. How could I when I'm with someone as loving, witty, and perfect as you?"

Tony smiled, "Damn, how did I deserve you. If it helps, I promise I'll smash that forsaken clock in our room. Drives me nuts anyway."

You both laughed, standing blissfully, the bright moon glazing down on you two.
