                                                                                      Yukino's POV

The next morning I woke early and was sure to be at Iruka's classroom before even he got there. I felt terrible for pretty much bailing on him the day before. I knew it was more Jiraiya's fault but still, I felt bad. He arrived a few minutes later and he blushed upon seeing me.

"Were you waiting long? I'm sorry." He said and I smiled.

"No, I just got here a couple minutes ago." I said and he nodded, leading the way into the classroom after unlocking the door. I helped him set up for the day and then I went and sat in the same spot I did the first day I was in his class. One by one children began filing in and sitting in their assigned seats, some seeing their friends walk in and others looking like they were about to fall asleep again. Naruto was the last to show up, barely on time.

"Good morning class." Iruka started and I watched him have fun while he taught even if some of the kids did get on his nerves. He seemed to love all his students but I could tell he had a soft spot for Naruto especially. It seemed he seen him as somewhat of a son.

"Alright, next week will determine whether you get to move onto Gennin or you have to stay in the Academy longer. Be sure you practice." He said and they all gave determined nods, their young faces set in seriousness.

"Alright, well I have a few papers to grade tonight." He said, gathering them. I smiled.

"I could help again if you want." I said and he smiled back at me, blushing a bit.

"If you wouldn't mind. There's a bit more this time than last. Only this time I'm walking you home." He said and I nodded.

"Deal." I said and we walked in comfortable silence back to his home, both of us carrying half the stack of papers. We made it to his home and walked in. This time he didn't rush to clean up the tiny mess that there was.

"Alright, do you want any tea while we grade?" He asked.

"That would be wonderful. I can make it if you tell me where everything is." I said and he shook his head.

"You're my guest, I can't let you make tea for me." He said and chuckled.

"Iruka, I can make tea, it'll be fine. If you won't tell me where it is I'll have to rumage and who knows what I'll find." I said and he blushed a bit and sighed.

"Tea leaves and the like are in the cabinet above the stove." He said, defeated. I smiled and made my way to the kitchen while he started grading papers sitting at the dinner table. Once the tea was done I sat a cup next to him carefully and then sat across from him and taking half the stack and began grading with him.

"Thank you for the tea." He said.

"No problem." I said and we graded in silence. The quiet with him wasn't awkward  in fact it was comfortable. Neither of us made a noise other than our pens scratching against the papers as we graded. I smiled as we worked and once we were done he offered me to stay for dinner once again and I accepted, telling him it was my turn to cook.

"Are you sure you want to cook?" He asked.

"Of course. I enjoy cooking." I said and smiled at him.

I started putting together a small dinner from when I lived in the castle with my now ex-husband. It was small, not something you would think the Prince or even the King would eat. After it was finished I placed a plate in front of him and and then sat across from him again, my own plate in place in front of me.

"This is really good!" He exclaimed after taking a bite. I felt my cheeks heat up and I smiled, looking down at my plate and pushing a bit of the food around it in embarrassment.

"Thank you, It's been a while since I've cooked for someone." I said and started eating my own plate of food.

After dinner I washed the dishes much to Iruka's dismay.

"You really shouldn't be doing the dishes or even cleaning in my house. You're a Sannin Yukino." He said and I sighed in irritation.

"Iruka. Just because I am a Sannin doesn't mean I suddenly don't have to do all the everyday chores other people have to do. Being a Sannin is just my level of mastery. I am a normal girl, just like everyone else." I said, getting fed up with being treated like I was some high up noble or something.

"I'm sorry, I had no idea you felt that way." He said and I turned to face him. He was bowing and I frowned.

"Don't bow. It's not your fault. Can I ask you a favour?" I asked him. He stood up straight.

"Treat me like everyone else please? As if I was just some other person on the road. Just like everyone else. I don't want to be treated differently just because I reached a higher level of skill then most other people." I said and he smiled at me.

"If that's really what you want then I'll do it." He said and I smiled gratefully at him.

"Thanks Iruka." I said and he nodded, both of us getting ready for the walk back to my home.

Once there he smiled softly at me and with the light of the moon I could see he was blushing a bit as well. I smiled back and bowed in thanks .

"Thank you Iruka, I really appreciate how you worry about me." I said and his blush deepened.

"It's no problem Yukino. Have a good night." He said and watched me walk into the door before he began leaving.
