2. I wonder

Tzuyu woke up in the early hours of morning,and it was still a little bit cold. Yesterday night when she arrived at her room, she instantly went to sleep. Taiwan was really far from here and the journey exhausted her. She laid back on the bed and was about to go to sleep again when she heard a knock on her door."yes?" She said still feeling sleepy.

The door opened and a woman in maid's outfit came inside. She bowed her head as she stood at the door."good morning your highness, I am your new maid."

That's when Tzuyu sat up straight, remembering her conversation with the head mistress. "I see" she replied in a monotone as she was still sleepy, but then immediately regretted as she thought it was a bit rude.

She took a good look at her, the woman was not more than late twenties but she was nervous.

Tzuyu got ready to climb off her bed. "I am going to take a bath, please prepare a dress, they must be in the closet."

The maid quickly bowed again and hurried over to the closet. But before Tzuyu could turn back her maid asked her"your highness, do you have any preferences?"

Tzuyu gave it a thought before shrugging. "no, prepare what you think will be best for the first day"

After a peaceful bath, she got ready, the maid just finished decorating her and she went to take a look in the mirror. "Is this fine, your highness?" That's when Tzuyu looked at her, her head was low as she avoided any eye contact. Tzuyu sighed.

"You know... Back in Taiwan, my personal maid was actually the daughter my father's conqubine, so we got along really well. So it is awkward if you talk so formally.... Oh and you don't need to address me as 'your highness' all the time.  If you must say then call me miss."

The maid was astonished at her politeness, but she smiled and nodded. Just then there was a knock on the door Tzuyu nodded at the maid and she hurried to open the door.

Nayeon and Jihyo entered with big smiles on their faces trying as polite as they could. Tzuyu returned the smile with same politeness.

"Hello, I am Nayeon and she is Jihyo, we are assigned to show you around, as your trustworthy seniors"  Nayeon said with a smile.

" Thanks, I am really honoured" the youngest said already feeling excited. Soon after proper introductions they left for Mina's room.

After a brief walk they reached the assigned room and knocked. "Come inside" a voice called them as they turned the knob and entered. A maid was brushing Mina's hair, as she looked into the mirror. Mina's eyes darted to the three of them as she stood and bowed to them.

" Hi... We are supposed to show you around." Jihyo said with uncertainty the atmosphere a little awkward. Mina smiled at them, but it was obvious that her smile was fake.

"I am Myoui Mina princesses of the northern estate of Japan, it's nice to meet you."

Tzuyu smiled and said"I am Chou Tzuyu princess of Taiwan, I am new too." Mina nodded at her.

"I am Nayeon and she is Jihyo, your seniors" Mina nodded at them. Her mysterious personality was charming but somehow it made things really awkward.

"So shall we go?" Jihyo asked trying to sound enthusiastic.

Walking through the hallway, Nayeon and Jihyo talked a lot, giving every necessary information. Tzuyu asked a few questions, occassionally, but Mina never opened her mouth walking quietly, that too with a posture that screamed elegance. Nothing seems to amuse her. She mostly looked bored. The aura that she gave off made it impossible for anyone to start any small talk. Finally, it was time for breakfast and they went to the dining hall. It was a huge area with lots of tables and chairs. There was a table where 20 people could sit, there were tables where ten people could sit,there were tables where three to four people could sit, and there were tables where only two people could sit.

The four of them sat down on a table, as breakfast was served. But no one sat on the big table. Soon the head mistress entered, followed many other teachers and everybody stood up. All the teachers occupied the middlemost table, the huge one as food was served to them. Jihyo watched Mina carefully as she hadn't started on breakfast. It looked like Mina was judging the food. Finally she picked up the fork and ate a bite. Then without saying anything she stormed off the dining hall.

Jihyo was a bit annoyed at her reaction to the food, it was of the best quality and yet she acted like it wasn't even worth eating. Not only her, but both Nayeon and Tzuyu thought it strange. Jihyo had been finding it a bit annoying from the start, she thought that Mina was simply being rude, and for some reason it pissed her off.

"Is she okay?" Tzuyu asked worried.

But Jihyo just scoffed and said "she is, it's just her attitude, she just thinks of her as someone very high."

In between Nayeon added" I thought so too, the way she walked in the hallway, as if this place wasn't worth for her to live in." Tzuyu considered their words, maybe they were right, but somehow she was still worried about Mina.
