Chapter One:

Ain't It Funny.

~

Denial.

That is what the first step is, and I'm sure it probably seems funny to you, but I can guarantee that it will help you in the end.

Pretend that you are still together, that it was just a fight, and that he will call you in a few days to apologize for what he did wrong.

Act like nothing could ever come between you two, like nothing will ever be able to come between the love that you two have shared for so long.

There is a rule to this stage though; DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT contact him. No calls, emails, texts, letters, friendly invitations, NOTHING.

Because if you contact him and you work things out, then you will never be free.

Odds are, if you are mad enough to break it off in the first place; either one of you. You will never forget what the other person did, it will always be in the back of your mind. And you will be thinking it every single time you kiss, hug, touch, talk, anything. It will be there, you will be thinking about if you were wrong or not.

Then, you will eventually find something, anything, to pick a fight about, just to break it off again. Which is stupid, and you will have to go through all the stages again.

So, for now, deny.

Deny there was a fight.

Deny you did something wrong.

Deny he did something wrong.

Deny you said anything hurtful.

Deny he said I hate everything you've become.

Deny, deny, deny.

Deny you've broken up.

Just lay in bed thinking about him.

Every night.

For about two nights.

Pretend he's on vacation for work or family matters.

That in a few days he will be calling you to make up for anything he did or said.

He will scoop up your face in his hands and kiss you.

And that kiss will be the best kiss you've ever had in your entire life.

Deny.

That is step one.
