"Mickey. Get your lazy butt up right now or your dad will eat your pancakes for you"

The first thing that greets me as my eyes open in the humour filled shouts of my mother drifting up the stairs and through my locked doors. Yes you heard right, doors.

I'm not exactly your regular wolf, and the Alpha demanded as many layers of protection as is possible. I used to sleep with 3 guards in my room, but as i grew older, it started to feel a little invasive, so I was able to convince the Alpha to consider a new approach.

Low and behold, that left me with three doors; One regular one on the inside opening towards my room with three locks and two bolts, one on the outside opening into the hallway also with three locks and two bolts, and then a thick metal one in-between them that slides into the wall with finger print and retina recognition. Yeah, getting out in the morning is quite the adventure.

"Take all the time you need Mickey. I'm sure I could put my body through a few more pancakes in order to honour your beauty sleep. I'm just that good of a father"

I hear my dads low chuckle, before a dull slap echo's around the house, shortly chased by a shallow grunt of pain from dad and mum's shocked shriek. This is pretty much a tradition for them. Dad tried eating more than his share, mum slaps his arm away, and he retaliates by chasing her down and tickling her. It may sound disturbing, but I admire my parents relationship. I cant wait to meet my own mate to have a relationship like theirs.

Swinging my legs out over the side of the bed, I stumble sleepily over to my window to unlock and take down the bars and board. After blindly throwing them on the bed, I leant out the window to get a deep breath of air. I know its for my protection, but my room can get very stuffy at night being locked in so securely.

My gaze glides around outside before settling on the four figures below. Guards. Another precaution that the Alpha set in place after they moved out of my room.

My gaze lands on one face in particular. A tough man in his mid-thirty's, his head shaved, his muscles bulging out from his attack gear. He may seem threatening, but anyone who knows him knows he's a real softy, made clear by the bracelet-like tattoo wrapped around his wrist scribing the name of his mate and "three princesses". His threatening stature is only exaggerated by the scrawny figure next to him.

"Hey Butch. You and the boys training a new recruit ay?"

I see the scrawny boy jump slightly from the sudden presence of another voice, making the rest of the guards chuckle. In all fairness, the new guy is pretty buff, but in comparison to the titans the Alpha assigned to my case, he looked like a deflated modelling balloon. Hell, those guys could make The Rock look like the captain of the chess team in one of those heavily stereotypical, teen romance, Netflix shows.

"Yep. He just finished his training last week so he's joining the force. About time to. Don't get me wrong, I love ya Kid, but there's only so long I can stare at the same tree before going insane. Also, I've told you a million times, its Jordan"

The guards continue staring out the entire time to avoid shifting their attention for one second, but I was still in prime position to see a slight smirk appear on the edges of their faces.

"Whatever you say Butch. Why would anyone want to leave my presence" Even though they're not looking, I place an exaggerated smile on my face and flutter my eyelashes with my chin resting on my hand. I see Jordan slightly shake his head in defeat but I never got a response.

Knowing that conversation was over, I glanced up to the guards above me as well. Cant have them thinking I'm playing favourites.

"And how are you guys this fine morning?"
