Chapter 4

CHAPTER 4 THE MONSTER I ONCE CALLED DAD.

JUGHEAD POV

By then we had decided to walk to school. She held my hand tightly and didn't say a thing until we got there. Betty is strong but sometimes fear can really get to her. Then when we got to the Blue and Gold finally, she said something.

"Its my fault that Midge was killed." She said as she started to pace up and down the room.

"W-What? No, it's not we didn't know anything until this morning." I told her confused as I held her shoulders.

"If the reaper is the same person who followed me home then he went to kill me and not her she didn't deserve this at all." She told me.

"No, she didn't deserve what happened to her. And you did the right thing running away like you did. If it was any one's fault it was sheriff Keller's and his team for not believing you so don't ever blame yourself, okay?" she nodded slowly, I pulled her in for a kiss. She cupped my face and deepened the kiss further as I put my hands around her waist. Just then someone burst through the door making me jump.

VERONICA POV

Me being me I find out the gossip as soon as I can and this one shocked me as it was to do with my girl and that outsider jug-head. They kissed. KISSED then to make the situation worse Archie came in attacked Betty yet again and had a fight with jughead. But the best thing is Archie lost and got suspended from school for it! My girl doesn't know that so I decided to got to the Blue and Gold to tell her. That's when I saw it.

Betty and Jughead were kissing AGAIN. I mean don't get me wrong I love it when my girl is in a happy relationship but I just don't want her heart to be broken or for her to get hurt again.

"Woahhhh, guys calm down we are at school save it for later!" I said at the top of my voice and then I started to laugh at myself.

"oh, sorry V I didn't know you were in here," she said with her cheeks blushed.

"I didn't come in here to talk about that, I came in to say first of all are you guys okay I heard about what happened yesterday, also what about Midge being murdered?" I said to then as they looked at each other in fear.

"Oh well were fine now thank V and I know I feel so bad for her family. I bet the word has got around about me being followed home last night?" as Betty said that I felt my jaw open and my eyes widen.

"N-No I didn't know that. Oh My God are you okay?" I said in shock.

"Yeah I think so" she told me back and started talking again, "My theory is that the person who followed me home is the same as the one who killed Midge," when she said that I actually became quite scared for her life and jugheads;  they could be in danger.

"okay, well I wasn't there so can't really say anything, but you have to promise me something B. Please don't investigate this I don't want you two getting hurt any more than you already have." I told them.

"You know I can't promise you that V," she said to me.

"I knowwwww but I don't want a replay of last year okay?" I said as I pulled her in for a hug. I looked at jughead and said, "look after her please I can't let her get into the mess she was in last year."

Jughead looked at me confused as I just let one of her deepest darkest secrets out in the open.

BETTY POV

Veronica left the room and I collapsed onto the chair as I had flashbacks to that terrible night. I dug my nails into my palms for the first time in months and my breathing became heavy again. These past few days and days to come were the best and worst moments of my life. Jug fell to his knees in front of and held my legs he looked confused.
