Chapter 6

CHAPTER 6 DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE

JUGHEAD POV

It was 7pm and I pulled up outside of her house. I didn't know whether I should go and knock or if she would come out to me. I waited two minutes before going to her door, I knocked the door and Mrs Cooper opened to me. Bettys mom was so lovely.

"hi Mrs Cooper I'm here to pick up Betty." I say nervously.

"Ahh yes hi jughead. And lease just call me Alice." She said to me. Betty's mom is so lovely. She let me in the house while Betty finished getting ready. Betty came down the stairs as beautiful as always.

And she said, "sorry I'm late I wanted to take a shower." Then leaned in for a kiss.

"I don't mind and anyway Pops is open all night" I tell her as she laughs. I take her hand as and we turn about to leave the Cooper home.

"Don't be too late Elizabeth," Alice says from the kitchen.

"I won't mom don't worry" she shouts back to her. And with that we left.

We got to Pops and took a booth next to the window. I ordered a burger and fries while Betty got a strawberry milkshake (her favourite). The night was going smoothly until Betty got a phone call which changed everything. Her phone started to buzz on the table. She picked it up and it said no caller ID, she looked at me as she put the phone to her ear.

BETTY POV

"hello?" I said nervously down the phone.

"Hello Betty Cooper, how nice to hear from you. How's your strawberry milkshake tonight?" the voice said giving me the chills.

"w-who is this?" I asked.

"oh me? I'm only concerned about you. But seen as you asked, I'm the wonderful person who followed you home a week ago with a knife, I'm the reaper." Those words echoed around my head time and time again.

"what do you want?" I asked who I thought was a stranger.

"I want peace in the town. So, I get rid of those who don't deserve to live."

"Why did you call my though out of everyone in the town," I said.

"Because you and your beanie wearing boyfriend are my next victims unless you do as I say."

"w-what we did nothing wrong." I had started to cry now and panic. I noticed Jug looked at me with a concerned looking face.

"L-Leave me alone!" I shouted down the phone as more and more tears ran down my face.

"just take this as a warning" he chuckled and hung up the phone. I looked at jug and dropped my phone in fear.

"Betty, what happened are you okay?" he asked me.

"N-No I'm not okay jug. I was just called by the reaped and he said that we were the next victims." I told him my voice all shaky. He grabbed my hands and I gripped tighter.

"Don't worry. Over my dead body is the Reaper going to get anywhere near us. Okay? Do you believe me Betty Cooper?" he told me.

"Y-yes. I love you so much Jug." I said. He smiled and wiped a tear from my eye.

"I love you too baby," he smiled. I didn't want to spend the night alone. All I could think about was the Reaper. His words and his evil voice echoing down my ear.

"Hey Jug do you think you would be able to stay the night I just don't want to be alone- "he cut me off by saying.

"Of course, I will as long as your mom is okay with it." He said. I sighed with relief that I wouldn't have a spend the eerie night alone.
