Sunshine Through the Clouds

When the clouds part

The sun's rays break through,

After a heavy shower

To give hope of a better day.

Was I wrong to expect the same

When you came into my life's mess?

Life can be cruel, it has it's own way

But together we were enough to break through-

So I thought once, now I regret.

You taught me to be strong, to never break

But weren't you the one to break away!

You built me to be the pillar of my own fortress

But weren't you the one to crumble to pieces!

Weren't you the one...

No, this is not anger, nor pain

This is just to let you know what I gained.

Well, your teachings are still significant-

They made me strong enough 

Enough to not make it the end

When you and me came to an end

I learned to let go

And see, I passed the test-

To not make it the end

I chose someone else:

He holds me in his arms

He hugs me tight

Every night, he kisses me to sleep

It's a routine for him

To whisper endless words of love

Love, that I believe, is oh so deep.

That's what you did too, do you remember?

I guess you do...

But don't worry about me

(I am not really sure if you even think of me.)

I won't break so easily as I did before

(I do sincerely hope that I won't.)

I'm sure that I made a correct choice this time

Although that's what i had thought in your case too...

But, if it weren't for you

I wouldn't have been here now
