Flashback

Aria watched as the pirate stole her away, clutching her tightly as he ran from Pan. As he boarded his ship, set sail for his exit, Pan made his way aboard.

"Captain, are you sure you want to do this... perhaps we can arrange a deal. You have been an admirable business partner in the past," Pan spoke with a threatening undertone.

"What kind of deal?" The pirate asked.

"One for your freedom. If you return what you stole from me," Pan suggested.

With a hand still defensively clutching the stolen goods, the pirate thought carefully. He knew to be wary of deals.

"It's a deal."

"Pleasure doing business Captain."

Aria woke up gasping, and at her lack of movement, she began panicking, tears already forming in her eyes as her confidence faded. The island hadn't protected her and she was scared that this would be it. These strangers would be the end of her. Her noise brought the attention of the others and they stood before her. The lady with the long dark hair was staring at her menacingly, the couple seemed hesitant, the pirate looked curious and nothing more. It was the woman with the blonde hair who saw her tears, her anxiety, and quickly untied Aria despite the protesting from the others.

Aria held her hands together, her knuckles turning red as she squeezed them out of anxiety, counting to ten in her head. She took a deep breath as she finished and stood, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand. There was a sword pointed toward her by the blonde, so Aria stayed in place. "Who are you and why were you spying on us?" She asked.

"I'm Aria, I live nearby. I heard new voices and thought I would check it out. Then I passed out," Aria told them.

"She's lying, she probably works for Pan," the dark-haired woman fired back.

"She's not lying," the blonde quickly corrected.

"I assure you I don't work for Pan. I escaped his camp weeks ago," Aria said, being careful to not mention her friendship with the person they seemed to despise. "Who are you people?" She added. She wanted to know who the pirate was, how she remembered him.

"I'm Emma, this is Regina, they're my parents David and Mary Margaret and he's—"

Aria felt his name come back to her, "Captain Hook."

"Yeah, do you two know each other?" Emma asked confused, looking between Hook and Aria.

"Yes."

"No."

Everyone was confused. Aria remembered him, but he seemed clueless of her.

"I have never seen this girl before," Hook defended.

"I remember you. You traded me for your freedom," Aria tried to remind him. This made Hook look bad and the others' trust wavered as she said this.

"I didn't trade a girl for my freedom. I stole something from Pan as leverage. As part of our deal I gave him it back and he let me go free," Hook argued. Emma listened and believed him.

"Can you take us to Pan? He kidnapped my son Henry, have you seen him?"

Aria wanted to think that Pan hadn't done it, especially after consoling her last night, but in reality, Pan had kidnapped her too. She had sacrificed the place of her neighbour for herself. Kidnapping was what he did. She would help this family find their son, Pan wouldn't miss one boy. She was willing to take the fall for his escape. These people in front of her didn't seem like the evil sort, well the lady with the fireball in her hand did, but the woman Emma had shown empathy for her anxiety and she remembered Hook and how he wanted to be free of Pan too.
