"I'm not going."
"What?!" Mom shot her wide eyes at me, turning away from the closet. I had interrupted her hunt for the perfect dress.
"I'm not going for the date, Mom." I repeated.
"Why not?!" Her expression panicked and she looked disheartened.
"Umm... I-I...feel sick."
I didn't want to tell her that the man was married. He'd been the first one she'd liked sincerely and telling her that I had no chance with him, I thought, would only demotivate her more into thinking that her daughter would never find the right man.
"No you're not."
"H-huh?"
"I know when you're sick and when you aren't. You just don't want to go. Take this dress and get out of my house and DON'T YOU DARE come before 10."
She slid off a knee-length, full-sleeved black dress covered with sequins all over it from a hanger and placed it infront of me.
"I wore this for my own first date with a man far more charming than your Dad. God, I should've accepted him when he proposed to me..." She trailed off, sighing.
"Then you wouldn't have had me." I replied with a smile.
"Of course, I would have had an already married daughter instead. That man was romantic, I tell you. We would've made great love-oriented kids."
"I'll just dress-up now."

Jeon Jungkook had been chatting with his friend over text. He had arrived early for his date with a woman named Min Seo-Yeon and was trying to kill time. Being the CEO of a multinational company came with great cost. He was always busy and couldn't take out much time for his family. His mother had been pestering him to find a lady for himself so that he could also have some joy in his life. She was scared that he'd devote himself fully to his work and would never be able to live a family life if he continued on the track he was currently on.
Jungkook had always managed to convince his mother that he'd find someone. Truth was, he didn't know how to. He had never had a serious thing for anyone before and didn't want to date or marry unless he had strong feelings for the person. He told her that he would soon go on a date but didn't know when himself because he couldn't find the right woman.
His friend Jimin had made his account on a dating app and set him up with someone without his knowledge. He denied at first but when he got another call from his mother telling him that she would start seeing a match for him herself, he immediately told her that he had a date. He decided to take a chance.
So he'd taken a day off at work and was now waiting at an expensive rooftop restaurant with a spectacular view to meet this woman. Her pictures seemed fine and she looked young. Well, the lady was ten years younger than him after all.
The elevator opened and a couple of people got out. He looked at them and suddenly, his eyes landed on a woman dressed in black.
She looked beautiful.
Her long brown hair was open and she wore an elegant black dress with golden heels. As he watched her walk through the crowd of people, he slowly panicked as the woman made eye contact with him and started coming towards his table.
Then it hit him.
Wasn't she the one? Min Seo-Yeon?
