My head shot up in a reflex and I looked at him with eyes that threatened to pop out.
"What are you so shocked for?" He asked in his soothing voice which sounded like honey to my ears.
"Uh——no. Thank you." I said and softly smiled at him.
"Don't tell me you've never received that compliment before." He said and scrunched his eyebrows as he stood beside me and turned his face to me.
I looked down as I quiety said, "No..."
I felt so tiny infront of his huge body.
"Oh...I'm sorry but can I ask you a personal question?"
"Yeah, you can."
"Have you ever had a boyfriend?" He asked plainly with no emotions.
"No, I've never had one." I replied truthfully.
Mr. Jeon closed his eyes and turned his face up to the sky.
'She's too innocent. The way she talks, reacts, behaves—it is confident and sarcastic enough to interest any man and then that layer of innocence and vulnerability on her personality when combined is just enough to drive anyone crazy.' He thought.
Precisely speaking, she was driving him crazy.
"Mr. Jeon? Are you okay?"
"Hmm? Oh yeah...sorry, I was thinking about something." He opened his eyes and looked at the waves infront of us.
"Can I ask you something too?"
"Sure."
"Have you ever had a girlfriend?"
He laughed.
"Of course. I've had plenty of girlfriends in the past ever since I became a high school student. However, I've not dated anyone since the last few years." He calmly spoke.
"Oh...nice."
"Indeed. It's actually a pretty good feeling to be in a relationship. Being someone's partner and supporting them through thick and thin, being a part of their joy, sharing their sorrows, living your own life with a big part of them in it—it feels so warm and fulfilling."
"I'm sorry, I can't say "honestly though"." I said with a blank expression.
"It's okay. I don't want you to do that. Want to sit?"
"Sure."
We sat on the sand and stared at the view. Sometimes at the stars, sometimes at the waves—we just kept looking ahead, with none of us feeling awkward in those moments of peace and bliss.
"It was a nice evening with you Miss Seo-Yeon. I'm grateful for today. Can we go for coffee tomorrow? My favourite coffee place prepares it's special offering every week on Tuesday...which is tomorrow. Are you in?"
"Sure. I'm fine with it." I looked at him and smiled.
I couldn't wait to go on another date with him.
"If you want, I can come and pick you up."
"No no, it's fine. You don't have to take pains for me. Just text me the address."
"For that I need your number."
'Please give it, don't kill me. I'm not a creep but please give it.' He thought in his head.
"Give me your phone."
'YES!!!!' Jungkook thought as he tried hard to hide his excitement from coming to his face.
I typed my number and gave him his phone back.
"But it would've been no problem to pick you up by the way. My friend's son studies there and I go to pick him up sometimes. So I can pick you two together, you know. Anyway, choice is yours."
Wait...
