My heart was pounding so hard I could hear it through my ears. He was hunting me down; it was a part of my new training. I could hear more leaves crunching as he got closer. I pounced from my hiding spot, jetting off to the other side of the woods. The cold air was hitting my cheeks and my nose. I tried not to huff and puff as I ran, but the footsteps became twice as fast... He was on all fours. The hunt has officially begun.
The time has come for me to take drastic measures. I began letting my anger hit me like a fresh lightning bolt, making my face contort and my body shift. My fangs grew as well as my claws. My vision was more crisp and I could sense he was close. I need a plan, a really good one.
His running was getting more quick and rushed. I didn't have time for a plan. Remember what he said, Scarlett. "Trust the instinct." That's exactly what I did. I turned toward the direction in which the Alphas footsteps sounded. Attack him.
I quickly hid behind a tree, masking my heartbeat over the loud cracking of leaves I hit with a rock that I threw in his opposite direction. I calmed myself for the attack. Don't be too anxious...
When he had had enough, he got up on his hind legs, sniffing the air around him. Crap, I forgot that he has an amazing sense of smell. I turned to look in his direction, but he was gone. I looked back and forth. He was no where.
"Derek... Where the hell are you?" I whispered. I repeated again, but louder, "Derek! Come on! This isn't funny anymore!!!" Still no answer. I couldn't even smell his usual pine and wood scent. Was he actually gone. The Alpha Pack is still running loose... Did they kidnap Derek? I repeated my actions of searching for him. Nothing. I decided to walk our from behind the tree. I stood in the middle of the cleared area of forest. This can't be happening.
Suddenly, I was knocked to the ground. I heard a crack and smelled rich, fresh blood, yet my attacker continued to abuse me. I growled, but suddenly became dizzy. My attacker ceased his harsh beatings.
"Are you alri-" he interrupted himself. He noticed the blood. "Uh, Scarlett... I'm going to take you back to the hideout. Please stay still."
Gosh, Derek was truly my savior. Even though he had inflicted the main issue of my unstoppable bleeding. I'll be okay. He slowly picked me up, shifting me so we'd both be comfortable. The world before me shifted black and I lost my consciousness.
