In a world where humans rule and witches are scarce, two children were born into war. A worried mother hid with her newborn children, their father having died amidst the chaos. The woman ran to the forest edge with her children in her arms. Desperate for her children's safety, she handed them off to a rebellion's leader.
"Keep my children safe," the worried mother ordered before she was struck by an arrow. "I will, Sal."
The leader of the rebellion ran through the forest, and into the hollow. The whole of the rebellion raised the children to be kind, and merciful young ladies. When the girls reached the age of two the rebellion started to build a tower with everything that two growing girls might need.
When the girls turned ten they were locked in the tower for further safety. They had visitors every day so that they wouldn't be lonely. They taught themselves how to control their magic. The rebellion became their family.
