The Job Offer

Kaylee's POV

I've lived in Tennessee my whole life. I have amazing friends and a super cute boyfriend. My mom works for a law firm and my dad works as a mechanic. I have a twin sister named Kelsey and a younger brother named Bryce. I'm 15 years old and I'm a country girl.

My alarm buzzed signaling I needed to get up. I hate early mornings. I dragged myself out of bed and into my bathroom to take a quick shower and brush my hair. I put my hair in double braids and put on some make up. When I finished doing my make up I got dressed. I put on my favorite jeans and my new pink top. I decided to wear my boots to school today because they match my jeans. Once I was finished getting ready I got into my car and headed to school.

When I got to school I saw my best friend Stacy standing by her car waiting for me. I also saw my boyfriend Nate standing with her. Nate and I have been dating for like 3 months now. I parked my car and walked over to them. "Hey Stace, hey baby," I said kissing Nate. "Hey girl, so are you ready for our first practice after school?" Stacy asked me. "Oh yea I hope I get picked as captain this year," I said with a smile. "Let's get to class before we're late again," Nate said. We all laughed and headed off to class.

I had math first. I have that class with my other friend Bree. She and I have been friends for years. Class flew by and before I knew it school was over. "All cheerleaders to the practice field," the voice over the intercom said. All of us went out to the field to begin our first practice of the year. "Ok girls, we are going to be voting for captain today and I will be announcing your captain at our next practice," our coach told us. We began practice with some simple cheers then we moved into the tumbling and arm movements.

After practice we used the locker room to shower and change back to our other clothes. When I was finished I told Stacy and Bree goodbye and started walking to my car. I was almost to my car when I got stopped by the most popular girl in school Kendra Brown. "Hold it right there," she said as she stepped in front of me. "What do you want?" I asked her. "I want you to quit cheerleading for good," she told me. I looked at her like are you serious, "How about no! Now if you'll excuse me I got to get home," I snapped at her before pushing her out of my way and getting in my car. I drove home and went to say hi to my parents and siblings. "Why don't you give me a ride to school Kaylee?" Kelsey asked. I smiled, "You never asked me to and plus you have your own car," I told her before going to my room.

I plopped down on my bed and decided to check my Facebook. As the app opened I saw pictures of Nate with some other girl and the caption on the photo said your girls gonna kill you Nate! He had commented on the photo and said oh she won't know I cheated! I was so furious about what I had just seen. I decided to practice my cheers to calm my nerves. "Kaylee, please come down here we need to talk to you," my mom hollered up the stairs. I went downstairs to see what was up. "Please sit down hunny this is important. Ok so I got offered a job today at the firm," she told us, "My boss wants me to work bigger cases." We all congratulated her and smiled. "But the only way I can get this promotion is by moving to LA," she told us. We all got upset, "I don't want to move mom! I have friends here and I have Nate," I told her. "Yea mom I have friends here too and I just started talking talking to the guy I like," Kelsey added. "I got friends to but I thinks it will be fun to move to LA," Bryce said.
We both looked at Bryce with an evil glare. "Enough girls, your father and I still have to talk about this. Once the decision has been made you will all know," mom said before walking away.

I went back to room and messaged Stacy.

Me: Mom got offered a new position at work today.

Stacy: That's great did she take it?

Me: If she does we have to move to LA

Stacy: No! I can't have my bestie across the US from me!

Me: I know but it's their choice ughh

I gently tossed my phone down and decided to go play games on my computer. I went down to the dining room and logged in to my computer. Once it signed it, my Facebook popped up with even more pics of Nate and that girl. This time I realized who it was. It was Kendra. I clicked out of that page and started playing the sims. At least they won't make me move away from my friends. I played my game for a few hours before I got tired. I shut my computer down and went to bed.

The next morning as I was getting ready for school my mom called us all downstairs to the living room. Once all of us were there she looked at us, "I know you kids have friends here, but your father and I have decided that I'm going to take the job offer! We just have to find a house and we will be moving," she told us. My mood went from happy to full on sad. I got up and stormed out of the house. I got in my car and sped off to school. I got there and saw Nate and Kendra kissing by her car, and I saw Stacy by her car waiting for me. I got out of my car and went over to Stacy. "Well?" She asked. "We're moving!" I told her. As I said that Nate looked up at me before rushing over to me. "Babe, you can't move away I'll miss you to much," he said. "Really? Cuz I'm still here and it looks like you've already moved on," I snapped at him. "What are you talking about babe?" He acted like I didn't see anything. "I saw you kissing Kendra and I saw all the pics of you two together last night," I yelled at him. He looked ashamed, "Oh you did see that. It didn't mean anything I love you," he said. I put my hand up to his face, "I don't need this right now, I have to move to LA for my moms job and i just found out my boyfriend is cheating on me. Get lost Nate we're done!" I said before walking off to class.

School went by so slowly today. School finally ended and as I was trying to leave, Kendra stopped me again. "So you're quitting cheerleading, good oh and by the way Nate's not even that good in bed," she snickered before walking away. I wanted to punch her in her stupid face. I got home and decided to apologize to my mom. "Mom I'm sorry for storming out like that earlier, I'm just not ready to leave my life here. I love it here except for Nate who is a stupid cheater," I told her. She looked up from her lap top, "It's ok honey, I know leaving everything you know and love behind is difficult, but you are so beautiful and strong you will make new friends before you know it," she told me. I smiled before heading to my room to do my homework.

I finished my homework right as dinner got done. We were having spaghetti. I went downstairs and ate my supper before going to my room. I decided to take a quick shower and check my Facebook. Sure enough Nates relationship status had already changed from me to Kendra. Ugh I hate that bitch! I threw my phone down and crawled into bed. The next morning after getting dressed my mom told us that this would be our last day of school here. "We found a house and are going to be moving in the next couple of days so say your goodbyes to your friends," she told us. "Hey, Kaylee will you give me a ride to school today?" Kelsey asked. "Come on," I told her before we left for school.

We arrived at school and as usual Stacy was waiting for me by her car. I walked up to her and hugged her. "Why are you hugging me? we don't hug," she said laughing. "I hugged you because today is my last day. I won't get to see you again before we leave for LA," I said with a sad look in my eyes. I turned in my class text books and said good bye to all my friends, then I saw him. I walked over to him, "Hey I just wanted to say goodbye," I told Nate. He looked sad, "You're moving?" he asked me. "Yes and today's my last day so I wanted to leave things between us on a good note instead of a bad one," I told him. He smiled and got up to hug me. "I truly am sorry I hurt you the way I did," he apologized. I smiled at him before kissing him. Our lips moved in sync for a few moments before we separated, "Wow that was some kiss," he told me. "Yea well it was your last kiss from me. I'm gonna miss you Nate," I told him before hugging him again.

I left the school for the last time and headed home to start packing. After 4 hours of packing my room I got a text from Stacy.

Stacy: hey there's a party tonight, wanna come to one last party before you go?

Me: I'd love to but I have to ask my mom

I went downstairs to find my mom. "Mom, can I go to a party with Stacy tonight?" I asked her. She looked at me with a stern look, "Go ahead, but just so we're clear I'm only allowing this because its your last night with your friends," she told me. I hugged her and ran to get get dressed for the party. I decided to wear my black skirt with a blue tank top with my jean jacket over my shirt. I also wore my black heel boots. I messaged Stacy to tell her I could go and that I was ready. She came and picked me up and off we went.
