Chapter 21
Finally, a new chapter. :D Sorry for the slow update and the shortness of this one compared to the last. :P Also, the italics at the beginning are a flashback, just in case you don't get that at first. Okay, yeah. Off to the story now. (:

“How do you like it?” the lady said, spinning Alyce’s chair around to face the mirror. Alyce looked exactly like she’d always wanted to. Poofy, black hair, smelling burnt from being straightened far too much. It was perfect. She now looked like one of them.
“Looks nice”, she mumbled, trying to remain as unenthusiastic as possible. Her usual smiled was wiped off of her face with no evidence left that it ever existed. Finally. She looked just like how she’d always wanted to. She felt like she was who she was destined to be.
She stood up and shook the new, black hair off of her black hoodie and black skinny jeans, smirking in the mirror. This was the real Alyce.
“So, how’s it look? Is it how you wanted it?” Alyce stared at her reflection, taking in every inch of newly colored and styled hair. It was beautiful, the color of caramel candy, hardly reaching past her shoulders. The curls cascaded down like a beautiful waterfall framing her face.
Alyce couldn’t help but smile. “It’s perfect! It’s…it’s the new me. I love it.” She stood up and turned around to hug the hairdresser. “Thank you so much.” Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Darcy grinning. It was obvious that she approved. Of course, she had to. It was her idea.
“Alright, let’s ring you up then”, the lady said, walking up to the counter. Darcy opened her purse and grabbed a crisp, 100 dollar bill. “Thank you, Darcy.” Alyce said. “I hope you know how bad I feel, making you pay for this and all.”
“Making me pay? It’s my pleasure. You needed a nice haircut anyways…no offense.” She placed the dollar bill on the counter and turned to face Alyce, closing her wallet. “You can keep the change. Thanks, Samantha!”
“It was no problem! Come see me again, okay? You’re going to need touch-ups on your purple streak soon. It’s looking kinda…”
Darcy scrunched her nose up at Samatha. “You’re sooo not my friend, are you?”
Samantha’s high-pitched laugh echoed against the walls. “Of course not. We’re best friends, remember?”
“Alright, remind me of that next time you insult me”, Darcy smirked, turning towards the door.
“Will do. Love you, Darcy!”
“Love you!” she said, heading out the door.
Alyce walked up next to Blake, who reached out for her hand. She looked up and smirked at his new haircut. “Someone’s looking handsome with their new haircut, aren’t they?”
“Pssh, I’m always handsome”, Blake replied. He looked down at Alyce. “Your new haircut isn’t so bad either.”
