Darkness, something feared by all.
This world is just too small.
Dark, wet, cold.
Stuck in that tiny mould.

A simple tap was all it took,
And the outside world could have a look,
At the new creature entering the world.
Shimmering scales and tail twirled.

The small creature, falling onto the hard stone,
Left, cold and frozen to the bone,
She slowly opened up her eyes.
To see a giant creature that flies.

Slowly she came to a stand.
So her four feet touched the land.
Another giant creature landed near.
The newly born girl shook with fear.

The creature looked over her like a tower,
But mere she was worth the size of a flower.
The creature dropped its head to her level.
She took steps back with fear and tremble.

"Hello Aurban welcome to smoon,
The land you will learn about soon."
The giant creature whispered gently,
Breathing small rings of smoke a plenty.

Aurban, small creature now named,
Admired the food in which she aimed.
The creature believed to be called mum,
Dropped a pile of fish worth to her as a crumb.

In less than a minute the meal was gone.
Auburn was full but knew she could eat on.
"You are a dragon and the only heir,
Do not be scared because the qualities you bare."

The giant beast nudged her lightly.
Auburn's wing spread out sprightly.
The dragon with scales like ice,
Nudged her again giving advice.

Aurban ran like the wind,
Flapping like a sick bird thinned.
The mother jumped off the cliff ahead.
Aurban thought she'd be dead.

She closed her eyes tight,
And leaped off without flight.
She felt her wings lift,
As the great wind blew swift.

The third eye lid slowly lifted,
Aurban saw the world that shifted.
She roared a first sound in fright.
As she flapped frantically towards the light.

She landed with a thump,
On the rocky ground that bump.
"You're learning fast dear one,
I hope you're having fun."

Days, weeks, months, years.
Aurban grew without fears.
Years, decades, centuries, onward.
She became the one that conquered.

The population slowly declined.
The rumours were the fault of mankind.
Strange metal armoured creatures,
With not as many features.

They came with weapons of great.
Sharp black objects that changed their fate.
They came from below the snowy peek.
A place small and distant and far more weak.

The dragons defended with all their might.
With flaming blazes and keen eyes of sight.
For a dragons armour is but the toughest,
And a dragons claws is but the sharpest.

A dragons wings are strong as a hundred men,
But light as a feather dropped from a hen.
But why the people were without their worse,
Was because a dragons heart can reverse any curse.

Great battles were constantly fought,
And the two legged creatures were hard to be taught.
But the dragons slowly began to fade.
And now but only two remained.

One of the elders put up his last fight,
But then Aurban was left alone and fled out of sight.
She fled through the caves deep in to rocky abyss.
She stayed silent, without even a hiss.

Years upon years past.
The dragon race was long gone fast.
Aurban, the last dragon to exist,
Began to go mad within the dark mist.

Memories replayed back in her mind.
Dark thoughts haunted her blind.
She awoke from her long breathless slumber.
Little did she know the world had changed around her.
