I was lying on something rough. Probably gravel and I felt a strong pain all over my body. I blinked and opened my eyes. A stranger was looking down at me. A perfect stranger. I sat up.
" You Okay?" He asked.
"Um..sure" I replied.
"I'm lost here." He said looking around. I observed the surroundings. I hadn't been there before.
"So am I" I added.
Saying "We have to move" he turned and strode away.
I was confused. He looked vaguely familiar. I don't know what thought crossed my mind next. I shouted after him.
"Wait" Then I ran to him. "But where?" I asked.
"Wherever" was his reply.
"Well..your name??" I wanted to know.
"Jade" and that was all. No asking back my name.
We walked along a thicket. While following, I examined him closely. He was of very dark complexion, tall, lean, broad-shouldered and trimmed hair. But his blank stare was the most unusual thing.
We walked for an hour or so. The thicket got thinner and we came to an open place. I could see a human habitat at a distance. Consolation rushed through me at last. But my happiness faded and I felt sick. They were houses. But the word 'houses' was not the right word to describe them. They were cottages made up of clay and thatched roofs. Similar to the tribal habitats you found in Amazon. Ok! I have seen wattle made houses before. But I didn't expect to see them here.
I heard a strange noise then. More like a horse galloping. And whatever it was, a horse or a unicorn it was galloping toward us.
