Tadashi's Alive

Chapter 4:

All Tadashi remembered was muffled voices talking and a small prick in his arm in the crick of his arm. Then he completely blacked out.

When Tadashi woke up, he looked around the same place we woke up from his coma. Sheets were drawn over him. By who, he knew not.

"Hey you're awake," somebody said from the corner and Tadashi turned his head. Jo was sitting in a chair in the corner of the room. Tadashi managed to sit up a bit, groaning in the process.

"What happened?" He asked and looked to Jo for answers.

She sighed and leaned over in the chair putting her elbows on her legs. "Bram electrocuted you pretty good. We brought you here and patched you up. You were only out for four hours," She said and looked down. 

"Wait, Bram? I thought no one knew who was in charge," Tadashi said, completely confused.

"They don't, and I plan to keep it that way. I am the only one who knows who he is, and what he looks like, because I've been here for three years. And I have good hearing. I thought you would have a right to know, because you fought back against him and he hurt you because of it. Now you're on his radar," she said then finally looked at him in the eyes. He saw something in her eyes, that he hadn't seen before. Hope.

"What do you mean? He hasn't done that to anybody else?" Tadashi asked.

"No, I always saw that thing at his side, but never saw him use it, not even on me," she said, she hesitates then adds, "everything has been changing since you arrived."

Tadashi thought about that for a minute. Why would everything change when he arrived?

"There's something about you Tadashi. I don't know what it is, but I do know you're different. Why did you do it?" Jo asked, and Tadashi looked at her confused.

"What do you mean?" He asked and threw his legs over the side to face her.

"Why did you tackle him? You could have let him hurt me. No one disobeys my orders, but you...you did. Why?" She asked, stood up and walks over to Tadashi. He looked up at her.

"I don't know really. I just saw them hurting you and something snapped. I attacked them to save you," Tadashi said and looked down. He looks back up when Jo doesn't say anything. He finally saw she had a split lip and a bruise above her left eyebrow, probably a few broken ribs too from the hits to the gut she received. 

"Thank you, Tadashi. I think you saved me from a rough beating. I owe you," she said and started to leave. She stopped at the door and turned around. He could tell she was about to say something but hesitated. "Dinner is ready if you want some." With that, she left through the door.

Tadashi just stared at the door she left through then closed his eyes and sighed. He got out of the bed feeling sore everywhere and putting his shoes on. He walked out the door to the mess hall. Putting what happened to him behind him.
