Jo woke up to the fluorescent light bulbs hanging above her. She stretched and smiled at the thought of what has happened in the last 24 hours and looked over to Tadashi's bed. Hiro was sound asleep, his hair sticking up all over the place which made her chuckle softly, but then she looked down. Tadashi was gone. She panicked and jumped off her bed. He was always there in the mornings. He always waited for her to wake up. She ignored the coldness of the floor and ran around searching everywhere for him. She came last to their workspace, but instead of Tadashi, someone else was in his chair, and she was not pleased to see him.
"Where is Tadashi?" She sneered, anger seething in her voice. The cold seeped in through the place, chilling her arms that were exposed. She clenched her fists by her sides.
"What? No hello?" Bram asked and put down a screwdriver that he had picked up. Jo stood their not moving, just glaring. "Alright fine. Tadashi is running a special errand for me. He won't be back until next month, if he doesn't get killed, that is."
"Killed?! What kind of a mission did you send him on?!" Jo asked with wide eyes, gritting her teeth, trying to calm her temper so she didn't strike out at him.
"That's a need to know," he said and started walking out but Jo stuck up her hand to stop him.
"Trust me. I need to know," she said glaring daggers at him. Bram stared her down from top to bottom, his eyes lingering.
"It's classified. Not for your ears. Now if you'll excuse me," he said and pushed down her hand with a gloved one of his own and walked out.
'Something isn't right,' Jo thought and continued to glare daggers at the middle of his back, where his heart would be located.
~Meanwhile~
Tadashi woke to a room full of darkness, his hands chained above his head, his bare feet barely brushing the ground beneath them, and painful marks all over his upper body. Blood spilled from a few of his marks, and from his lip. His head ached, like nails were being hammered into it. He closed his eyes trying to ignore the pain. Tadashi has been this way for two days, only getting a break when they let him down, but still keeping his hands chained together, so he couldn't move or fight back. They had beat him and cut him but still, he did not succumb. He heard the door open, and his eyes quickly opened. He saw Bram and two guards walk in.
Bram walked right up to Tadashi. "Ready for another round, Tadashi? You can build this device for me, or suffer more pain. Either way, I win."
Tadashi glared at his enemy. "I will never build that weapon for you," he sneered and spat at him. Bram wiped it away with a glare and grabbed one of the knives that were on his belt. Bram twirled it around in his hand with ease, making it seem he is very skilled with a knife.
"Maybe we should go a little more...extreme in our persuasion." Bram walked over to the table and grabbed a sedating shot. He rushed over and stuck it in Tadashi's neck. Tadashi flinched and groaned at the sharp pain.
His vision started going fuzzy, his head rolled, and he blacked out completely.
~Meanwhile~
Jo paced around her workspace until she heard a knock. She looked at the door and saw Zach. Zach was her closest friend here because he reminded her of her brother, but skinnier. Zach came three months after her brother died. They became very close, simply because he was the one to help comfort her."What's wrong? I can see it on your face," he said and walked over to her. "Not to mention your running a track into the ground from all your pacing."
"It's Tadashi. Bram said he's on an errand for him, but I know that's a lie. I said that no one could separate me and Tadashi, but I guess someone can. I think Bram has taken Tadashi and probably is either killing him or torturing him, because he was with me," Jo sat down in a chair, "and it's all my fault."
Zach sat on the bench next to Jo. "Don't say that. It's not your fault. I've seen you and Tadashi together, and you two were meant for each other. I can see it in the way you two look at each other," Zach said, and smiled at her. Jo wiped a tear that fell and stood up. A look of determination on his face.
"Will you help me try to find him?" Jo asked, swallowing hard.
"Of course," Zach said and hugged her.
"We cannot mention this to Hiro. I don't want to worry him. He lost his brother once, I won't let him lose his brother twice," Jo said. "And I can't lose another person I care about either."
~Meanwhile~
Tadashi woke up after who knows how long. When he finally came too, the room felt hotter. Then he found the source of the heat. A fire was made five feet to his right, in a brazier. Bram was turning something in the fire, making sparks fly up."Good, you're awake. This time I am pretty sure you will build what I want. I told you we were going to take it to the extreme," Bram said and walked over to me with a metal bar with three triangles overlapping each other, glowing a bright yellow. His eyes widened in fear. "Why don't we add to your burns shall we? Show people that you belong to my company, and you will build whatever I want. Do whatever I say." He walked behind him, swinging the burning metal in a circle.
"No, please no," Tadashi pleaded, his throat dry. Tadashi grabbed his chains, readying himself for the pain, he never wanted to experience again. He screamed at the burning pain that touched his left shoulder blade.
~So sorry this has to be a cliffhanger, but here's another chapter. Sorry it's late. Thank you so much for reading it!~
