Chapter 8: Breaktion Arrives

Heckyl's POV

    It was the next day and Lynx, Grace and Everest, now going by Eve have gotten along with the others well. Eve stays with Koda or Keeper in the base for the most part, and Lynx and Grace stay with each other.

Today was going to be busy with the costumers, but before we even got started the Rangers got called.

"What is it Kendall?" Tyler asked

"There's a monster sighting nearby, outside the zoo! Go!" She informed

Once they left, Eve stuck around and so I had a little talk with her. It didn't go so well though, it ended with me having to leave her to aid the Rangers. Keeper and Kendall thought it'd be a good idea to keep Eve at the base for now. Keep her as a secret weapon. Besides no one knows she's here so we need to keep her safe too.

When I arrived at the field the guys informed me the monster's name was Breaktion. They didn't have too much info before I joined. All I was told was that the monster did something to Lynx and Grace and now they aren't fighting as well as they should. At first it was hard for me to tell, but then I understood.

The two would fight fine, but it's when one would accidentally run into the other they'd start arguing with each other. It also seemed like they didn't know each other well. Sort of like they forgot their memories of each other. I got in between them to have them stop arguing but they blasted me back with their powers. Then they started arguing about why they did that to me. It was a mess.

The monster laughed at this and left, and we were left with two teammates arguing. When we powered down, they walked silently the way back. Then Lynx said something he'd never say to Grace before...something that shocked everyone.

"I don't understand, when did we even get a new team member? I mean seriously who is she! I don't even know her!" He shouted

"Yeah I don't know you either! Why were you chosen! An energem wouldn't have picked someone like you!" Grace shouted back

That's when Eve came between them and they walked out of the base.

"So what exactly happened out there?" She asked

After explaining what happened Keeper had a theory that whatever might have happened caused both Grace and Lynx go lose their memories of each other. Koda noted it was similar to when they faced Shearfear. I remembered that, they had a hard time from what I heard Sledge say, even he had a hard time with him. The Rangers defeated him in the end of course.

Eve questioned who Shearfear was and we just simply put it's a long story.

Now with Breaktion we need something, or some dna from him to fix Grace and Lynx before they lose the connection from their energems forever, if they can be broken.

I ran after the two, hoping the monster wouldn't ambush them. Fortunately I was there in time when it happened, but the monster was too quick, and I didn't have time to react before it did something behind me. Lynx, Grace and I weren't able to do anything when he went behind us, I heard a snap of something and we all fell down unconscious. Surprisingly I heard the monster leave after he did that. He didn't bother take their energems.

Tyler's POV

    I ran after Heckyl to make sure he'd be okay, Shelby, Chase, Riley, Koda and Ivan were behind me. We hid behind a building to see what Heckyl was up to, and that's when we saw Breaktion again. I was about to head out to stop them, but Riley stopped me.

"What're you doing?" I asked in a whisper voice

"Just wait, trust me on this, let's see how he did what he did to Grace and Lynx. I bet he'll do the same thing to Heckyl and them," Riley explained, and so we waited to see the outcome
