I was so excited! Today is the day I join the army! I put on my uniform. It was a white office shirt, a green pencil skirt, a green sleeveless vest with golden buttons, a typical army cap, and special green and white shoes. I said goodbye to my parents and went away. First, I needed to meet the leader of my squad, General No. 7. I expected him to be a muscular man with a beard and mustache and a loud, gruff voice. But when I saw the General, my jaw dropped. It was a beautiful woman with the same cap I was wearing, her beautiful brown hair tied up into long twin-tails. She wore the same vest as me, but instead of the uniform, she wore a low-cut sleeveless black dress down to her knees. She had green army boots, a garter-belt with a dagger attached to it, and an eyepatch on her right eye. She had green gloves. Her beautiful green eyes were mesmerizing. She introduced herself as Serenity Goliath. A female General? Was that old man lying to me all this time? I told her all she needed to know about me, and she said that my first mission will be patrolling around the Main Street. So I did. Soon enough, a man came up to me and said: "Ma'am, please help me. Someone stole my wallet! Catch the thief and bring my wallet back to me." I agreed. He also described his wallet: it was brown with a golden-colored button. I saw a man skating away on his skateboard with a wallet in his hands. I ran after him. I caught up to him and said: "Hey you! Give that back right now!" He replied: "Shut up! That's mine!" I replied: "No, it isn't! You stole it! Now, give it back or prepare for a fist in the face!" He said: "Yeah, right! I'm stronger than you, squirt!" I punched him in the face, then kicked him, then put a fast food bag from the nearest trash can on his head. He fell down. I took the wallet and gave it to the owner. He thanked me. I responded with the oh-so-cliche line: "It's just my job, sir." I walked around, looking for anyone who might need help. I saw a kid crying. She said: "I was playing with a boy, then he stole Coco! Please help me get her back!" I asked her about Coco. She said that it was a pink plush rabbit with a darker pink heart on it's right eye. I went looking for it. I found a boy stabbing a plushie that looked just like the little girl had described with a pair of scissors. He was yelling some stuff about pirates and gangsters. I said: "Stop that!" He replied with: "Want me to kill you with my saber too, squirt!?" I replied with: "Squirt? Now let's see about that!" He tried to stab me in the eye with his scissors, but I dodged all of his attacks and launched a punch in his face. He said: "Ouch! You sank my pirate ship!" and started crying and screaming. I took Coco, fixed it up and gave it back to the girl. The girl thanked me for bringing Coco back safely. I was soon enough confronted by the little boy's parents. They said: "HOW DARE YOU HURT OUR PRECIOUS SON, YOU DISGUSTING PIECE OF SHIT!?" I replied: "He stole another kid's toy!" They started yelling at me. The dad grabbed me by the legs, obviously intending to rip them off. The mom started choking me. I didn't cry. I screamed for help. Two police officers ran up to the crazy parents, trying to restrain them. But they were too strong and beat the shit out of the officers. The mom said: "NO ONE CAN HELP YOU NOW!" I tried to get them off, but I couldn't. I thought I was going to die. But someone flung the two lunatics into the sky! When I saw who it was, I was in shock. It was my General! She saved my life! I saw that her left arm and right eye were glowing with an orange light. She said that this was her superpower. She put her eyepatch back on and the glow stopped. I was in awe. She said that she'll always be by my side, no matter what. She was also very impressed with my performance in the missions. "General, why are you impressed with my performance!? You're much stronger than me!" She responded with: "It's because most newcomers were not even able to complete a single mission, no matter how easy, without a General's help. You're really amazing." I was flattered. I thanked her for the compliment and continued my patrol. A person said to me: "Could you please babysit my little girl? Both I and my husband have work to do, so we need a babysitter." I agreed. The little girl was very nice to be with! She didn't like the typical girly things like princesses, fairies, dolls or tea parties. She wanted to be a soldier when she grew up! I was happy that there was a person who I could share my interests with. I told her things about the army. She was so happy that there was finally someone who didn't call her "princess" or force all this other stereotypical stuff on her. She had a task for me: I should buy some ice-cream for her. So I did. I bought chocolate (her favorite) for her and pistachio (my favorite) for myself. We ate ice-cream together and had a great time. When her parents came back from work, she told them that she loved spending time with me. She said that I shared her interests and even told her about the army. Her parents wanted her to be her permanent babysitter, but I said that I will, unfortunately, not be able to babysit her everyday, as I have other work to do and I am a soldier, not a nanny, after all. They asked if, at least, I could babysit the girl sometimes. I told them that I would be able to babysit her sometimes, but not everyday. They were happy. My missions after that are unimportant: fixing broken toys, babysitting kids, finding lost things, bla bla bla. But I never expected what I would have to do next week...
