However, there is one mission that made me question my decision. One time, I was assigned surveillance of a hospital. Yes, you heard that right. Surveillance of a hospital. Guess they thought cameras weren't enough. I needed to walk around the place and check up on patients. Basically, patrolling of a building. Together with me were Sora Kunihiro and Chinegen Kamimi. Sora was a General. General No. 12, to be exact. She was very flirtatious with everyone. She had the uniform, just her skirt was shorter and her shirt was black instead of white and tied at her waist. Her purple hair was tied into a long ponytail with her bangs covering her eyes. Chinegen had the ordinary male uniform. It's the same as the female one, just with pants instead of a skirt. He had short white hair and a band-aid on his nose, no idea why. He was always talking about how he was in love with the leader of the army base, General No. 1. He always called him "Ryuichi-senpai" and told about how he tried to impress him many times, but failed every time, and wanted my advice. Why my advice? I was single my whole life and I don't know shit about dating. We patrolled the hospital. I've heard a patient scream, and ran to his room to check if he was okay. He said that the hospital food tasted like period blood mixed with feces and rotten eggs. I smelt the food and almost threw up! It smelt just like he described it! I immediately wrote it down in my notepad (yes, people still use paper notepads in 2027) to later file a complaint about it. I, against my better judgement, ate some of the food. It tasted just as horrible. Like, I've never eaten shit, period blood or rotten eggs in my life (and I don't plan to) but the taste was still beyond disgusting. I wrote the taste down in the notepad too. I asked if he needed anything else. He replied that he didn't. I left the room and continued my patrol. After some time, I heard Sora calling me. I went to where she was calling from. I saw that she was together with a patient who complained of dirty sheets. She said: "Don't worry, darling. I'll wash your sheets...and maybe something else, if you want to~" He was quiet embarrassed, but he said in an awkward tone: "Thanks, but wash only my sheets and nothing else, please..." Sora replaced his sheets with clean ones and went to the laundry room to wash the dirty ones. I wrote about the dirty sheets too. I asked the patient if he had any more complaints. He replied that he didn't. I left the room. Chinegen called me, so I went to the place where he was. He was disturbed. I asked what was going on. He said that the patients were abused, the staff were extremely rude and unwilling to talk, the conditions on the other floors were much worse than here, and there was purple smoke in some areas. The entire hospital was corrupted!? We went to the laundry room and got Sora to come with us. We decided to raid this place, de-corrupt the ones who began and spread this mess, and get everything back to normal! We saw a staff member walking by. I immediately pounced on her and wrestled her down to the ground, knocking her out. We proceeded down the hallway, until we knocked out all the staff members. First floor cleared, five left. After clearing the first floor, we took all the patients with us. There were 35 patients on each floor. We went to the second floor. The conditions were noticeably worse. So many complaints! If there was at least one more complaint, this place would be shut down for good. (If it was like this before the corruption, that is.) We saw that the staff now had baseball bats. We successfully defeated them too and took all the patients here with us, just like we did with the first floor. We already had 70 patients. Next was the third floor. The conditions were worse and the staff were stronger. But the patients were stronger too. The real interesting thing was at the final floor. The sixth floor smelt and felt like a rotting junkyard, and the staff were basically riot police by this point. We thought that we were going to die, but Sora said: "Close your eyes, all of you." So we all did. When she told us to open our eyes, all the staff, or rather guards, were down. The executives' office was on this floor. Time to defeat them and de-corrupt them (if they were corrupted, of course)! What I saw was terrifying. There were two middle-aged people, a man and a woman, in doctor costumes, covered in blood, with glowing purple eyes that emitted purple smoke. They had a chainsaw (the woman) and an axe (the man). I was absolutely bewildered. Was this corruption, or were they really serial killers? All of us fought like there was no tomorrow. When they were almost defeated, they came back, full, and maybe even double strength! Dammit!Sora again told us to close our eyes. When we finally opened them, we saw that they were defeated and de-corrupted. Phew! After their defeat, we saw that the hospital turned into a beautiful, clean hospital. All the patients were back in their rooms, which were now clean, and they were happy, some eating delicious food, others sleeping under their snow-white cotton blankets. The executives were now a peaceful, kind couple without any weapons or blood. It both amazes and scares me how corruption can turn things on their head...
