DEMI P.O.V.: once we finished eating and I picked Mason from his stroller.

Demi: where's his bedroom? I'll make him sleep

Joe: oh, it's next to mine (I nodded and walked upstairs)

Demi: I'll be back

Joe: sure, don't worry (I entered to Mason's room with a smile in my face cause it looked amazing with light colors like yellow and green) 

Demi: look at how beautiful this room looks...daddy made a nice job here (I started breastfeeding Mason while swinging my body a little and singing "twinkle twinkle little star" to him softly)

I was watching the city through the window when Joe entered to the room and walked to my side. He chuckled when he saw Mason and I smiled at him.

Joe: it always works...he always falls sleep whenever I sing to him too (I nodded)

Demi: lucky us we have a so calm baby

Joe: yea, do you think he'll always be like this?

Demi: probably...but I'm not sure tho (I chuckled) you know we both were really rebel back then

Joe: back then? I think we still are in a way (I nodded and put Mason in his cradle)

Demi: you told me you had something to tell me (he nodded and grabbed me by my arm softly)

Joe: let's go downstairs...just in case

Demi: in case what?

Joe: umm in case (I shrugged and we walked downstairs again)

We sat on the sofa and he cleared his throat.

Joe: I don't know where to begin

Demi: you should begin in the start of it, right? (He chuckled and sighed)

Joe: I bet you never really understood why we broke up

Demi: oh, of course I did. We broke up cause I woke up and heard you talking on the phone with Sophie about how you were with me just to see your baby (he nodded swallowing)

Joe: but there was a reason why I did that

Demi: you never got over her cause she's the love of your life...I know Joe. We don't even gave to have this conversation (he grabbed my hand)

Joe: no, of course we have to have this conversation...there's so many things you don't know (I frowned)

Demi: which things are you talking about?

Joe: I never wanted to break up with you, I never thought I'd have to choose between you and Sophie, I mean...I couldn't even choose. I would've chose you without a doubt

Demi: but you chose her the second you started seeing her behind my back. And I was carrying your baby, fuck (he nodded and kissed ny hand before I moved away from him)

Joe: days before that happened...Sophie's dad reached for me, and put me in his car...and he- (Joe sighed and covered his face with both his hands)

Demi: he what?

Joe: he told me to go back to Sophie and leave you or he'd kill you and the baby...I didn't have any other choice. I tried to be with you anyway, still dating Sophie once more...but you heard me that morning and I knew I had to get away from you cause I didn't want you or the baby getting hurt for me (I was in shock)

Demi: w-what?

Joe: Nick was the only person that knew about besides me and that horrible man...he promised me to take care of you and Mason as if you were his family, and he did. And I moved as much away as I could from you to try to restart my life...I did it cause it was what I needed to do to keep you and our baby safe...but I never wanted to do it. I promise Demi, I never wanted to do it. I wouldn't have done it if it wasn't for you and Mason (I saw him crying and covering his face with both his hands and I felt tears rolling down my cheeks as I wasn't really able to breath)

Fuck everyone. We had the life we dreamt of and we needed to let it go for someone's ideas. Fuck fuck fuck!
