Tony and I enter the bar, people having a couple of drinks, music, fun, but the one thing to draw my attention was the lady in the corner with a drink and a file all by herself.
"Mrs. Davis," I say, Tony, follows my gaze and nods.
The two of us walk over to her, she looks up as us "Mrs. Davis, mind if we join you?" asked Tony. she shrugs with her drink in hand "Free country."
"It sure is." I say and we sit across from her, Mrs. Davis looks at us for a moment "Alright. Where'd you like to start?" she asked, was she expecting us to come?
"I just want to say I'm sorry about your loss. We want to know what you think happened." I say cautiously. After the words come out of my mouth Mrs.Davis takes a swing of her drink annoyed "Look, I brought your damn file. You take it and go." she says dropping the file in front of us.
"Whatever was in here, he wanted no part of it."
Tony and I look at each other before opening the file. It had everything about Chad Davis! Government records, who he worked with, his history, all of it! I look at the top of one of the papers in big bold letter was the word MIA.
I look back up at her "Clearly, you're waiting for someone else. Yeah? Supposed to meet somebody here?" I ask she looks at me perplexed "Yeah."
Tony looks up from the file "Mrs. Davis, your son didn't kill himself, I guarantee you. He didn't kill anyone. Someone used him." he states.
Mrs. Davis must have had a bunch of thoughts running through her mind at a crazy speed. "What?"
"As a weapon." I finish.
Realization of the fact we were not the ones she was waiting for washed over her "You're not the person who called me after all, are you?" she says. Tony and I look at each other and nod.
Just then a cell phone is slammed on our table in between me and Tony "Actually, I am." the two of us look up to see the women who I bumped into outside the bar. Suddenly the women with quick speeds cuff our wrist together before she grabs hold of Tony's arm and twists it, slamming his head onto the table, causing me to fall to the floor but not before I quickly grab hold of Chad's dog tags that were on the table.
"Hey, hey, hey! What's all this about? What the hell's going on here?" asked the Sheriff "It's called an arrest." says the women pushing Tony onto the floor before stepping towards the Sheriff "Sheriff, is it?"
"Yes ma'am, it is. And you are?" he asks.
"Homeland Security," she states holding up her badge "We good here?"
"No, we're not good. I need a little more information than that."
"Well, I think it's a little above your pay grade, Sheriff."
"Yeah, well, why don't you get on the horn to Nashville and uh...upgrade me?"
Tony gestures to Mrs. Davis to hide the file, she pushes it under the bar "Alright, you know what? I was hoping to do this the smart way, but uh...the fun way's always good." starts the Sheriff until I noticed her hand turning red hot, burning the badge in her hand.
"Deputy, get this woman and..." suddenly the women shove the hot badge into the Sheriff's face, she takes his gun and shoots him. Tony and I stand I try to get the file and he tries to run out of there. We get pulled back remembering we're cuffed together.
"The file," I say, he nods we grab it and runs out of the bar the women close behind. We stop in front of a car and turn to her "Hey hot wings, you wanna party? You and us, let's go."
shout Tony. While he's doing that I'm looking around to Harley....who was nowhere to be seen!
