Pisces p.o.v
This was the worst idea ever, Pisces thought. He crept through the dark hallway, his palm sweaty against Cancer's. He could hear his blood racing through his veins, and his adrenaline made every creak of the floorboards seem like an echoing snap of lightning. Capricorn was still leading the way, with Taurus right behind him. They were at the end of the floor, just three rooms left. "I'm not doing it." Capricorn said bluntly.
"Why?" Pisces squeaked.
"Because I've been doing all the work. You three have been useless."
Taurus glared at Capricorn, "I refuse."
"You scared?" Capricorn mocked.
"No." Taurus said as she crossed her arms, "I'm just not too keen on being killed."
"Pisces should go." Capricorn said.
"I'm not too keen on going either!" Pisces protested.
"I'll go." Cancer volunteered, squeezing Pisces' hand. Pisces smiled gratefully at him.
"You're such a wuss Pisces." Capricorn scowled.
"I...I'm not."
"Prove it then." This time, it was Taurus who replied. Things would get difficult if Capricorn and Taurus ganged up. They weren't known for their kind hearts...
Pisces gulped, "Okay."
"I can come too." Cancer said, sounding worried.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine." Pisces gave his boyfriend a small kiss on the cheek and brushed the soft blonde hair out of Cancer's eyes.
"Stay safe." Cancer whispered.
"Honestly, why didn't I get so much support when I went into the rooms?" Capricorn asked in a jeering tone.
"Because you're an ass." Cancer said simply.
With a ghost of a smile, Pisces walked to the door before all courage left him. He moved his hand slowly to the handle. It was cold at his touch. He twisted it as soundlessly as he could, but, with his luck, it screeched like an owl. Now, if the killer was in there, he/she would be ready for him. Pisces brushed that thought away briskly. This was not helping his confidence.
Quietly, he opened the door. Just as Capricorn had said, it was a guest room almost identical to their own. Who needed that many bedrooms? He tiptoed inside and raised his torch. He checked under the bed and in the wardrobes. The handle to the bathroom was no less noisy than the one to enter the room. There was nothing under the sink, or in the shower and bath.
Pisces was about to let out a breath of relief until something caught his eye. He spotted a blob of red on the tiled floor. He examined it closely and it was obviously blood. Maybe it was normal to have blood in a bathroom, but something told him it wasn't anything to do with womanly issues. The fact it hadn't dried yet might have given it away.
Pisces looked around for more traces of blood. There were none. He was about to admit to defeat, but noticed the closed toilet seat. He walked up to it slowly and opened it. The water was a dark crimson red, but nothing that seemed to cause the vivid colour. An idea came into his head. He put his hands on the heavy tank lid. He struggled to pull it off, and almost dropped it when he saw what was inside. A long, thin kitchen knife lay half submerged in the water, with blood dripping down the sides of the tank. He almost threw up. "Cancer!" He called out in a panic.
"What is it?" Cancer rushed in almost immediately, closely followed by Taurus and Capricorn.
Cancer pulled Pisces away, as if the knife was going to come out and stab him. "That isn't period blood, that's for sure." Taurus muttered, examining the knife from afar.
