Gemini p.o.v
"Leo?" Gemini called out from the doorway. She chewed on her lip nervously as waited for her friend to finish looking around the room. The hallway was pitch black, and Gemini had turned off her torch temporarily to save her phone battery, which was getting dangerously low and would not last another hour. She shivered in Cancer's clothes; she had not had the time to change back.
"Nothing." She heard Leo say from next to her, making her jump and nearly scream. They were about to continue on when something caught Gemini's ear. A creak of a floorboards.
"What was that?" Gemini murmured, fear rising fast.
"It might be the others?" Leo suggested uncertainly.
"They would have said something..."
"Let's go the end of the hall." Leo said.
"But it's a dead end!" Gemini hissed.
"We've got no choice!" Leo argued. Gemini sighed, knowing she was right, but she didn't want to get trapped by a lunatic serial killer. The walked as fast as they could trying to be as quiet as possible. Leo put her hand in front of her light to dim it, so that they could still see but be less easily spotted. The house was so big it took several minutes to get to the end, but Gemini was sure she could hear footsteps behind them now. She grabbed Leo's hand and dragged her into one of the rooms.
Only this was not a room. A thin, stone staircase spiralled both up and down. The walls looked weak, unlike the rest of the mansion, and damp too. "What the..." Gemini started, looking at the staircase in confusion.
"Ophiuchus never mentioned this." Leo said tensely. Her eyes suddenly widened, "I think someone's outside." Sure enough, Gemini could clearly hear the sound of movement on the other side of the door. She motioned down to Leo, who nodded and crept silently down the steep stairs.
They got to the bottom and listened. Their stalker didn't seem to have followed them. "This is where Sag and Aqua are, right?" Gemini asked.
"Yeah." Leo said, "With Virgo and Scorpio." She seemed a little wistful when she said Virgo's name. Gemini knew her best friend's crush, but she understood why Leo didn't want to try things with him, knowing of her past relationships. That and the fact Virgo had just lost his girlfriend.
"Let's find the others." Leo said, stepping out of her trance. They walked cautiously along the corridor. The size of this place still stunned Gemini, it was so easy to get lost...
"Shit!" Gemini heard Leo say as she rushed forwards.
"What...oh god." Gemini saw Aquarius lying on the floor, eyes staring unseeing at the ceiling. She crouched down trembling and touched her friend's cheek. It was too cold. With a shaky breath, she forced her tears back and glanced at Leo, who looked dejected as she half-heartedly checked for a pulse. "She's gone." Leo whispered, almost inaudibly. It was those words that broke Gemini's restraint. Tears flowed freely down her face as she brushed hair out of Aquarius' face. There could never be another person like Aquarius, who could be kind and caring at the same time as being fun and lightening.
Gemini could almost feel the glass in Aquarius' chest pierce her heart too.
Scorpio p.o.v
They stood around the glass for what seemed like hours arguing on what they were going to do next. "We should find the others." Libra said, crossing her arms. "For all we know, one of them has killed their partner and is picking the others off one by one."
"And if it's one of us?" Scorpio enquired, looking around the room suspiciously.
Sagittarius shrugged, "We're just gonna have to hope it isn't for the time being."
