Libra p.o.v
"Libra!" She heard Aries shout her name from behind her, but she continued to run down the stairs, several steps at a time. She could hear Aries closing in. Terrified that he was the killer, she sped up, but so did he. They bolted down one floor, two floors, and Libra almost made it to the bottom floor before she felt Aries grab her arm. She frantically tried to pull it away, tears in her eyes.
"Woah, Libra! Calm down!" He told her.
Knowing struggling was useless, she stopped, "What do you want?" She stared into his warm hazel eyes.
"Are you okay?" He asked softly.
Libra's heart melted, "I-I don't know."
Aries pulled her into a hug and she cried into his shoulder. "Capricorn's dead." She sobbed, "And the murderer tried to kill me too. What if they come looking for me?"
Aries tilted her head back, "I'm not gonna let that happen."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
A small smile appeared on her lips. Her cheeks reddened as she only noticed their closeness, but she liked it. It was what she always wanted. Aries seemed to have noticed too and took a nervous step back. "Can I ask what happened when you caught Sagittarius?" He asked.
Libra frowned, "How do you know about that?" She questioned.
"Taurus and Scorpio told us." He replied.
"Oh, okay." Libra took a breath, "So Scorpio jumped onto her, I didn't know it was her at the time though. Taurus said she would go and see what had happened and told us to wait. I must've looked at Capricorn at some point because I was hit on the head and blacked out."
Aries nodded, deep in thought. "I think Scorpio and Taurus are in on it together." He finally said.
"Are you mad?" Libra said in shock, "Why?"
Aries rubbed his chin, "I don't know, but the way you put it suggests that Scorpio distracted Cancer while Taurus could pretend to leave then hit you."
Libra was silent for a moment. "What if it was someone else though? They could have sneaked past."
"It would be pretty much impossible to go by unnoticed, and neither Scorpio nor Taurus said they saw someone else." Aries replied.
After a pause, they heard footsteps echoing down the stairs. Libra and Aries exchanged fearful looks. "Was anyone following us?" She whispered.
"Gemini, I think, but she went back up." Aries muttered back.
Sweat beaded her forehead and her palms were sweaty. "We should go." She said in an urgent tone.
Aries nodded and opened the door as quietly as he could. Unfortunately, it creaked loudly, and the echoing footsteps got quicker. "Run!" Aries grabbed her hand and pulled her out the staircase. Libra's breathing was laboured as she struggled to keep up with Aries. She had no idea where he was taking her, this part of the house was completely new to her.
"Where are we going?" She gasped, looking at the unrecognisable humid walls.
Aries' breath was heavy too, "I don't know, I'm trying to lose them!"
"I think we've gone far enough!" Libra didn't wait for a response, she stopped running and clutched her side. Her throat was dry and she craved water. "I need a drink." Libra murmured dryly.
"Me too." Aries swallowed.
Libra was about to suggest going to the kitchens before a dart flew past her, only an inch away from her neck. A dark figure was at the other end of the corridor they had just run up and had readied another dart. For the second time, Aries yelled "Run!"
